I've been snowed in today... got plenty of bread, flour butter and milk so will survive until Thurs. Got loads of goodies in the freezer too. There's a Morissons 10mins walk away so will have to get togged up and borrow a sledge for DD if I need anything after this x0

Not too bad here, just worried the power will go off! Still, got plenty of logs and candles. Could always try to heat water on the log burner I suppose. Good luck everyone!!0

If I have to eat the Bailey's Cheesecake to survive so be it !0

I have a pretty full store cupboard but have been working my way through it last couple of months both in an attempt to get it down and to save money.
I have three freezers and they are full pretty much. Hadnt thought about it but seeing OP mentioning it, if the gas supply runs critical we might have problems. But have a slow cooker and a fancy microwave.
Live a 5 min walk from 24/7 Mr T so as long as they get supplies im not too worried. Live quite centrally, so can walk the mile or so into town.
Hope it ends soon though0 -
Oh dear - just realised the store cupboard and the freezer are full but running desperately short of loo rolls. So busy concentrating on keeping the mouth end stocked up that forgot about the inevitable consequences :rotfl:
And the snow is now coming down thick and fast here.0 -
Well it was my day off work today (thank god) and because I didnt dare venture out, in the North West myself its thick thick snow here, and judging by what I ate (never stopped all day:D) my full cupboards will be empty by tomorrow night!
Absolutley dreading having to get up at 6 in the morning to try to drive to work, I wonder were we stand if I cant get in!Sam B0 -
First thing this morning I was patting myself on the back for not having done a grocery shop since before Christmas. Doh!
I've taken the last loaf out of the freezer today and we've only just a pint or so of milk left, after making hot chocolate for kids playing in the snow. I got DH to grab some veg from the farm shop by his office on his way to collect the children from school when it closed early due to snow. It seems the farm shop hadn't restocked on veg since Christmas either so we have enough carrots for 2 meals and a big bouquet of broccoli.
I do have lots of butter and spreads, eggs and storecupboard bits, plus enough mince and spuds for a week or two - plan an uncut fruit cake and too many posh biscuits! It looks as though all the kids will be off school tomorrow too, so if DH does venture out we'll be trying to get a few gallons of milk in ready for more hot chocolate on the doorstep.0 -
PS- My freezer is in the garage and I can only get to it by going outside, so if we get lots of snow overnight I shall have to dig my way to the supplies!0
