the ccj is staying :S but it'll be paid off in 3 months... just makes it even more difficult for us to get a mortgage in august when our current tenancy is up! *sighs*31/12/2006 £8395, 01/10/2008 £5089.73, 19/10/2010 £835.00 31/03/2011 £0.00

Sorry to hear that Doodah but just remember it will drop off eventually and then you can re-mortgageNo longer using this account for new posts from 20130

we've decided now is not the best time to buy. now we're a bit stuck though, been looking at new places to rent then realised letting agencies will credit check us! the ccj is now satisfied, but i guess they won't care about that - a ccj is bad news to them. i've been searching through threads on here and the advice most people give is 'don't worry, you can have a guarantor' well that's great if you know a homeowner that's willing to do it. my parents rent, oh's parents said no straight away so that's a bit crap! not sure what to do now :S31/12/2006 £8395, 01/10/2008 £5089.73, 19/10/2010 £835.00 31/03/2011 £0.00

Hi doodah,
I think there's a way around the credit checks if you have a cash deposit, I know there is for young people so it might be worth a try.
Definitely try asking on the property board, they may know.
Hope it works outNo longer using this account for new posts from 20130 -

same old really. we've found a house to rent though and are moving within the next few weeks. it's a local letting agency based in a small town and they didn't do a credit check or anything like that, plus there weren't any horrible admin fees. so that's turned out pretty well
our debt isn't going down much as we can still only afford to pay the interest but hopefully that will change soon.
