Council Tax, eek that's a priority one isn't it

We had an Income Tax bill to deal with but I've sorted that one, thankfully

feeling a bit rubbish today. we've been doing really well considering oh has just changed to monthly pay, but we're into the last week now until he gets paid and it's v. tight! i've also not been feeling well lately, tired and emotionally drained. i just don't have the motivation to ring people and chase things up. hsbc, lloyds and mbna have all agreed to payments on oh's pay day, but i haven't rang A+L or barclaycard yet... still can't get through to council. aand to top it all off i logged into smile today to find a secure message saying they have declined my offers, even though they'd already told me they'd accepted them! the offers they stated were the original kensington ones, but i have since sent a letter with my new offers which are for more money, and i rang them to tell them this! they said my account was 'on hold' so i wouldn't receive any more letters.... :wall:

well, as soon as i got in from work today i rang smile, alliance & leicester, hsbc and barclaycard. alliance and leicester apparently sent me a letter on the 8th of january confirming my payment plan (yey!) which i haven't received. anyway that's sorted now thank goodness. smile have agreed my payment plans for my overdraft and loan for 3 months, so that's good as well.

can't remember if i've already posted about this but when i rang hsbc last week they said i'd applied for a managed loan, i told them no i have not!! and promptly arranged my reduced payments. the next day, i received paperwork to sign for my managed loan (?!) but i thought fair enough they probably sent it before i spoke to them. so today i received a letter asking why i hadn't signed the agreement yet! so i've just rang them again but the department i need to speak to is only open 9-5 (grr how inconvenient!). rang barclaycard, who passed me to mercers (anyone dealt with them before?) who then told me the department i need to speak to is only open til 5 as well. argh!! anyway i'm feeling a bit better about things now. need to get hubby to ring up about his smile overdraft, hopefully i'll be able to sort out barclaycard tomorrow, then it's just the council tax. if they ever answer the bloomin phone! do you think it's worth writing to them?

    thanks for listening :)

Definitely worth writing to the council, it's very odd that they haven't contacted you

HSBC love their managed loans

    Glad Smile is sorted now

just an update to say i got through to the council today and arranged a payment plan. she was really helpful, even reminded me that from april we'll have next year's council tax bill so not to commit to too much on the payment plan. so i'm almost there now and everything's falling into place :)

having a bad day again! just when i thought everything was gonna be ok... i've worked out what money we're going to have left over each week after i get paid (changing to 2 weekly in march, then monthly in april ) and lets just say it's not good! we have £0 for the whole of march :( so i've decided to bite the bullet and go back to my old job in the evenings. it's a restaurant so i'll get tips as well. trying to think positive!

got a letter from barclaycard today refusing my offer! apparently they'd already informed me of this, i think not! so i'm about to send another letter hopefully from the templates on here asking them to re-think.
