well smile are now bwing a pain, they're asking for copies of my last 3 months payslips and proof of my outgoings etc.! i'm just going to give in and pay them a few pounds more a month. they're the only ones that won't do long term payment arrangements it's just 3 months at a time!

i changed my payment date with virgin a couple of months ago, hadn't been looking at my statements but i did today and notice they've charged me a late fee the last 2 months! £12 each time! and i pay by direct debit?!!

Virgin will do as they are MBNA run as do most of the RBOS cards - it's because you aren't paying the full minimum by the due date. We are getting them from Halifax and it's pushed us over the card's limit so we get another £12 charge for that

Doesn't make any difference, unless you hit the minimum - they'll charge you for being late. We are despite having a letter agreeing to the payment of X on date Y

Yeah and threatened the ombudsman - they don't care. Apparently a lot of people are on DMPs is their excuse

found out the reason i'd been paying a late fee is because the first month after i changed my payment date, my minimum payment was higher. i have a fixed direct debit set up for £35 which was not enough to cover it by £2. ever since then i've been charged a late payment fee. i was so angry with them on the phone, surely they should have warned me that would happen?! i'd happily have changed my direct debit to the minimum instead of a fixed amount if they had. also there was no warning on my bills about not paying enough or anything!! arghhh so that's a bit of a setback
