It's actually closer to 23fps, but it's variable depending upon lighting conditions and the time it takes to save the frame to the class 2 memory card, editing is a nightmare because the sound ends up several seconds out of sync.
Not only that, but i've just used that distance tool and you can't make an accurate assumption based upon that perspective.... Moving either of the markers around I got variations of more than 25 metre's at either of those points!
Sorry mate but it's a fair cop.In that area, you are brave to speed or argue with any motorist.. The main HQ of West Mercia Constabulary is just over the road at Hindlip Hall, where more than 3,000 officers and support staff are based. There's a good chance that the driver of the black mini was police personnel. The place is swarming with cops. And all of them are looking for Brownie points...0 -
^^ lol, your just wrong...... You cannot get distance markers from a camera like that, it's just not possible, too many factors and too greater error margin. The camera only has move half a mm in it's mount and suddenly your distance markers have moved by several metre's.... Add this to my above post and you'll see that your arguement is both pointless and flawed.
But you carry on in your delusional world ok?
And so i'll repeat myself, this thread has nothing to do with my Youtube video's. You'd pick fault with a saint if you could and you'd defend the worse drivers in the UK if I caught them on camera. Your simply intent on disrupting anyone who has an opinion. This happens on forums all over the internet and it's nothing new.
Tis just a few select idiots who've twisted this thread into something it was never intended to be, I believe purely in an attempt to detract from the original point. Which was and still is perfectly valid!!“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

Post up the footage and let the MSE Grand Jury decide...
You can pixellate the car plate and company livery if you must...0 -
I drive past a van who's blocking half the road in an attempt to force his way out, I thought of stopping but remembered my gearbox problem, later he passes me at traffic lights and gives me a load of abuse. There's nothing to see.... I was driving along quite peacefully, he was clearly just a very angry and impatient person.
Gearbox as of 1 hour ago, is fixed..... Dropped the lever into it's calibration position, locked the gearbox in neutral and realigned the linkages.... All I needed was an hour or so, a screw driver, a 5mm drill bit (to lock the gearbox in neutral) and some half decent sunlight. Not exactly something I could justify taking a day off work for.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

When used correctly, the camera never lies..
The two reference points used were:
(i) the (40) sign painted on the road: http://goo.gl/maps/gilc
(ii) the last lamp post before the A449 junction: http://goo.gl/maps/dirD
Both of those fixed features are visible from aerial photos on Google Maps.
The coordinates for those two reference points can be transposed onto the Definitive Map from Ordnance Survey and that leaves a margin of error of barely twelve inches in a distance of 180.5 yards.0 -
^^ Your entirely missing the point.....
That assumes that the camera is fixed to a solid object which ignores the road surface and which passes each lamp post at exactly the same distance, it does not take into account the issue mentioned with the camera, it doesn't take into account the distance distortion from the lens where objects in the centre frame appear further away than at the edge's.
There are too many variables and yet again we're onto a subject which was not part of the original topic.
It's like, you can't pick fault at one thing so you go looking for something entirely unrelated.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

Well back to the original point of the thread, if you would also go to the same lengths of finding out the whereabouts of a regular driver for doing the same thing and give them a rollocking/report to the police/whatever then I have no problem with you doing the same for someone who works for a company.0

What you've created is your very own Police Camera Action channel on Youtube...
You've gained an audience that would make ITV envious..
We rant about surveillance cameras and their abuse by the state, but strider is starting a new trend in video self-abuse.
It's the dream of every Orwellian regime... Subjects who police themselves..
"When it [the dashboard camera] has been perfected, every government..will be able to control its [motoring] subjects securely without the need of policemen.'' -- Bertrand Russell
Never mind all that, are you going to test drive your repaired gear linkage, strider?
P.S. Don't take it too much to heart, my driving is much worse, so bad in fact that I wouldn't dare video it!
Imagine the nightmare if GOVERNMENT ordered all cars to be fitted with tamper-proof dash cams.0 -
Strider as an ex advanced police trained driver who has too often had to deal with the carnage caused by poor driving, including accidents caused by over zealous untrained colleagues; I am confused about your crusade to film bad drivers when your own driving obviously leaves a lot to be desired. Your demeanour on the film clips show a lack of self control and being calm and controlled in a vehicle is the essence of being a good driver. If you genuinely want to make the roads safer, improve your own driving there are plenty of courses open to you.In memory of Chris Hyde #8670
