Imagine the nightmare if GOVERNMENT ordered all cars to be fitted with tamper-proof dash cams.
They wanted at one point to have all cars fitted with GPS logging equipment so they could do away with speed camera's altogether. You go for MOT, data gets downloaded to a central location and you get your fines in the post.
Which is why several years ago, I got my hands on the schematics for a Russian short range GPS jammer.... Similar to what they were selling to the middle east during the first Iraq war.
But the system will never be implemented because it'd stop revenue from speeding fines altogether.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

Why would a perfect driver like you need such a thing?:p
That would be a good system don't exceed the speed limit for 14 days before your mot or never drive a car older than 3 years old.0 -

For the same reason that people are upset about iphone/pad recording location data?“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

Why is that then?
Not as if you can be done for speeding by your iphone.0 -

Then if I bought a set of brand-new posh-name tyres, they ought to last me over 100,000 miles?
Proper positioning when going round corners, good anticipatory slowing, always appropriate speeds, and leaving plenty of space in front mean I don't place any real stress on my tyres....I don't need 'grip' to get about.....neither do I rely on technology..or the actions of others, to drive safely....
it's all so very easy, if only ordinary drivers took the time to find out.
raspberries all round! No, I don't think all other drivers are idiots......but some are determined to change my mind.......0 -

All of this talk is no good, Strider! We are waiting to be entertained by more of your dashcam videos! Bread and Circuses, and all that!
Just watching the Police Interceptors in Essex Police on 5* on Sky. All of the unit's cars, mainly Mitsubishi Evos, are fitted with £10,000 of high tech surveillance kit, including a black box that records all manner of data from the ECU.0 -

I wouldn't mind seeing the clip he refers to at the start of the thread. Why won't he show it because he is in the wrong there too?0 -

Well, if they end up going in the same direction, the van must have been turning left.
So probably some poor bloke like the mini driver, half way out, probably a bit close and a bit late, and Strider tries to rip his front off, rather than slowing and letting him out.0 -
And the funny thing is - you don't even realise what a complete knobend you are.If you haven't got it - please don't flaunt it. TIA.0

is one of the Authorities that are happy to receive properly-formatted complaints from members of the public....concerning LGV's, PCV's, etc.
however, it's no good simply penning a rant.
A complaint, done properly is more use to them.....so its a case of accurate date, time, place...vehicle reg numbers and other identifying details if possible....
simply describe what happened, and how it affected you......don't be tempted to inject personal opinion...
Whilst one isolated complaint may result in little apparent action...... a trend of evidence against particular owners may result in deeper investigations....
But no authority can act if no-one provides evidence....so it really is a case of 'being bothered?'No, I don't think all other drivers are idiots......but some are determined to change my mind.......0
