Depends on your point of view I suppose. Are you trying to genuinely defend a £65 punitive charge against a 15p overdrawn balance?

If you have a way to defend that I suspect the banks may require your assistance for leading counsel in a certain law suit that's currently pending appeal!

The amount is a fixed fee. These fees are in the T&Cs.

And yes, I defend the fee, it's there black and white. Don't like the amount charged? Don't have to end up paying it. Simples.

I appreciate it's a fixed fee. However, there is no way that there were £65 worth of administration charges (which is what this -must- be according to the law) incurred as a result of this very small oversight.

Is it a punitive charge rather than a fee payable to cover administration issues? I'm convinced that would be the case in an example such as this.

On a consumer lookout website like this, surely you must be able to see that this is utterly outrageous from a consumer perspective and completely unjustifiable (without simply squealing about T's and C's, unfair trading regs can apply against T's and C's rendering them unenforcable).
Debt free, moved, got new stuff for the new flat - got everything I wanted and need - now just saving.

What is the breakdown of the £65?

I think you'll find this is more than an administration fee. Perhaps a daily unauthorised overdraft fee was included?

It is blatantly a rip-off tactic from the bank. Netted an unfortunate soul more like and not the 'be careful in future slap on wrist' that many people foolishly believe on here.

If they do not refund then move banks, start fresh and check the terms. Try get a buffer zone too of around £100.

Frankly banks should refuse it but why do that when they can milk people!

Now is a good time as any to move banks, especially from SANTAN'DIRE'.

Extremely insulting to the OP, in bold, if you ask me. They sure 'chose' to didn't they. Not everyone is on the ball 24/7 like some fanatics here.

Most banks would have gone to the wall if not for the 'bail-out'.

So they didn't spend the money that made them overdrawn? Odd, I wonder where the money disappeared to.

    Miscalculated by 15p more like.

If the courts didn't rule in favour of customers for claiming PPI you would blame all customers for not being careful enough too with that one.
