Thanks - much better to think of it that way!
Well the dogs and I had a lovely hour long walk through the woods, came home and went to tackle the office. Once I had managed to get in (small space, far too much stuff!) I sorted and tidied the main cupboard, making room to put my ebay stuff ready for selling. Then rather than try to sort the papers as I went along I put them into bags and boxes, throwing away any obvious junk as I went along. Together with boxes of bits and pieces I now have 14 bags/boxes to sort through! But this at least breaks the job down into manageable chunks - I can tackle a bag of paperwork whereas a mound of it leaves me helpless . That all took about an hour (yes I set the timer for half an hour but by the time it finished I was on a bit of a roll!). So now I am having a cup of tea and a few minutes online before I make some dinner. OH is away for a few days so it is just me - shall make a cheesy potato pie as have loads of both and it will do me for a couple of days at least!
Thanks for the support in my wobble earlier - feeling more positive now. The list is still scarily long but I have at least made some progress. I may even clean that darned bathroom later! :rotfl:0 -
Glad you're feeling more positive now and you've achieved a lot there ...well done:T :T :T :T
Exercise is always good for the soul...and you and the dogs will have enjoyed that..no doubt...keep your chin up and as I say just do a little at a time:o0 -
A little at a time - that is definitely the key. Wish I didn't keep having palpitations when I look at the list though! :rolleyes:0

fold it in half...then it'll look like you've not got so much to do!!!0

OK - new day, new perspective. Instead of looking at the big list and panicking I am going to try to keep my sights on achieving lots of small things.
I had a headache last night (still hanging on this morning ) so I didn't do anymore sorting. Instead I collected up all the jars/piggybanks of loose change we have floating around and bagged up £12 worth ready to take to the PO, then put back about another tenner which wasn't in baggable amounts. That gives a good start for my future collections of small change. I also found a wad of euros (130) which it seems will sell back for £81! :j:j
So I'm off to the PO soon to see if I can bank them all there (into A&L).
Then I start on those bags of paperwork....!0 -
That was a nice lot of change! I must check under the kids' school bags again - nearly always some there and kids don't think copper is money.
How is the paper coming along?Miggy

Yes Miggy - it was a nice surprise - we have a few jars etc around where we have always emptied lose change when purses/pockets get too heavy. Had no idea there was that much there! And the euros were also a big bonus - from OH's work trip in the summer - had no idea there was so much. Don't think I was very popular at the post office though as they took ages to bank it!
Have done 3 bags of papers and am on my fourth. Slowly but surely....0 -
Well done Mizmir...on the treasure hunt:T :T :T ...surprising what you can find around the house...I think I've got a bit of foreign change somewhere..so will hunt it out...what a nice surprise ..that was quite a stash:T :T :T
Glad to see you are doing well on the paperwork ...you'll have it done in no time:D0 -
Haven't been doing much mse stuff in the past few days. Our oldest dog has been poorly since before Christmas and died yesterday
- we have had her 13 years so it has been really difficult and very sad. Not the greatest start to the year so far.
But am still here and still trying to keep up with my challenges and spend as little as possible - hopefully luck will change soon!0
