Discovered Pigsback last week - have already totted up 540 PP without buying a thing! Plus I must have several hundred pending for signups.
But tonight I used Pigsback to take out pet insurance with m&s for our 3 remaining dogs (part of my new budget - including our 10 year old, all with no excess and £7000 per illness and less per month than we were spending on meds for our old girl who died). If these go through ok I should get nearly 6000 points!! Fingers crossed hey?

Hi Mizmir, don't let things get to you, we all have good times and bad but the overall trend is for you to be heading in the direction that you want to be in, so don't despair!

You are doing a really good job - have you looked at the DFW flylady thread, it has some good reminders of the basics which we all need from time to time.

    Hi Mizmir

Good to hear from you. Sympathies re the rising debt - mine has gone up since I started posting here too. It's discouraging but I'm still committed to battling it down come what may.

Good news that you've got a good deal on the pet insurance. I've never investigated Pigsback. Is it easy? I'm reluctant to take on anything else time-consuming online as I already have more freelance work than I manage to do.

Thanks - yes am doing DFW flylady - really pleased Tondella is putting those up. I need the habits I think - I am very good at getting started at things but not so good at keeping going!

I hadn't tried Pigsback until last week as I use quidco - but Pigsback has different companies and there are a lot of "clickthrough" opportunities. I have £5.40 just from them - it doesn't take long (perhaps 5-10 minutes a day) because there is a thread which links to them all each day - here. Some are sign ups to enews etc so it is worth using a different email account than your normal one (but you have to use the one you use to sign up to Pigsback).

Today I started matched betting! I had had a go a few months ago when lurking on the site but had got too busy - but I am now back at it and determined to work at it regularly. Made £17.50 today - reckon if I can do that every couple of days I could get up to my target of £200 a month. I need to make £500 a month extra to achieve my Olympic Challenge gold target - it will be a tall order but matched betting is one plank in my plan.
(Dog training and a combination of eBay, quidco, pigsback etc being the others! If the house is let I will do it easily but I am not sure if I should count that towards it).

So I am not going to rush - a few bookies a week should be enough.

Good for you - I have read the matched betting thread but not yet plucked up courage to start - I think that will be my challenge for next month. This month has been sorting out credit reference and correcting errors, getting used to listing on ebay, keeping a spending diary and generally trying to stay sane.

next month will be matched betting - easy in comparison  !!

Yay - go for it! The basics aren't that hard once you get used to it - if you stick to the rules and double check everything you can't go wrong. The hardest bit is finding a good match to be honest.

There are a lot of posts that scare the hell out of me - arbs, ahs, spread betting etc. but I am just going to leave those well alone until I am confident I know what I am doing. I have a great spreadsheet which works everything out for you - will find the link to it if you like.

Just checking in before I go and search for some good odds in the tennis! :D
Am on my second bookie - this one has some complicated play through rules and unfortunately I won the qualifier at the bookie so have £150 tied up there until I have played my bonus through so want to do it asap. But I should clear at least £20 on this one. Having done a bit of this a few months ago I have used the starter bookies already - but it is good fun and I may sign up my OH to do the partner friendly offers to have another go.

Got the bill for the car today - over £800. Actually includes mine and a new battery on my OH's which died the other day. It is not too bad for all the work that has been done but is a big chunk back on my credit card. Need to get going paying that off.

    How is everyone else today?
