muhren, we were in Hurghada, we try and avoid places that are full of English people.sounds awful doesn't it! I like to try and immerse myself on holiday and being somewhere full of English doesn't really appeal as I want to try and learn about the places I go to and a couple of words.
I can only say thank you in Arabic but its surprising how far it gets you. My fella was most impressed at me haggling over our boat trip, his cigarettes and even a lighter but again its part of the experience and more than once I was told im Egyptian really haha.
yes the property would be a second BTL. Not sure how much you've read but this time last year I was on my bum to put it politely! In about 18 months ive gone from losing pretty much my whole business (3 vans, 5 employees, 2 sub contract cleaners) my BTL being wrecked and almost losing my house to being the most comfortable ive ever been.
I took lodgers in to help me through the worst times and my last lodgers have finally been given a date to get the keys to their new build house (they agreed sale over a year ago, gave notice on rented house, new build stopped due to financial difficulties, landlady couldn't extend their lease thus lodging with me) Anywho!~ they move out this weekend and my kids get their bedrooms back (we have a 4 bed terraced so they have been sharing and have been stars really)trainee millionaire (aka not there yet!)0 -

one time in France I was on a cycling holiday, speaking nothing but French, and then I arrived at the Loire, which of course was full of English (Richard the Lionheart is buried there, for starters). I kept my mouth shut

Tinktay I can understand that, I went to Portugal this summer and I don't think we saw any other English over there and I really enjoyed it.
I had not got that far, wow that is impressive to get where you are today after all that happening. I'm glad it has all worked out for you, you sound like a little battler!LBM: Dec 2012 - Debt £38,180/ Now £0.

Just a quickie today to say "au revoir" .......
I'm all packed - ready to start my adventure bright and early tomorrow morning. I will be back in time to get ready for Christmas.
I know I've not quite reached My target yet and that a long cruise is maybe a tad extravagant but it's been a long haul to get this far. I'm tired and ready for a break.
I'll be back.......:rotfl:0 -
hope you have an absolutely fab time. thoroughly deserved (you've earned a lot longer holiday but 3 weeks will suffice for now haha)trainee millionaire (aka not there yet!)0

I have transferred the money over to my folks so my total debt is now below 4k. My dad has been paying the interest on the money I have borrowed which hasn't been factored into what I owe him, so in reality it is more than 4k.
Had my car serviced and my hair cut today so an expensive day, should still be able to get below 3.5k by the end of the month though.
I have been having thoughts about what to do once I have it all paid back and I'm thinking about taking some of the equity out of my house to buy another property as a BTL without the need to sell any shares. I'm not sure how feasible that will be but it is something to aim for.LBM: Dec 2012 - Debt £38,180/ Now £0.

Still waiting on the solicitors to do their stuff, but the house I'm buying was featured on Wreck of the Week blog this week, so I emailed the blogger to say hello and let her know it wasn't on the market any more - she emailed back, very kindly, to say she loved my blog and to let her know when I got started on the renovation, as she'd feature it on her blog. As she has 90,000 readers a month, this could do wonders for my stats0
