Muhren- well done you must be so proud of yourself with how you have cleared the debt :T
Always exciting to be looking to the future and seeing where you may go next.
cazmanian_minx- that's really exciting.0 -
Thanks minxy, I have to say that I don't feel proud as the situation was of my own making. I don't think I will happy until I have completely cleared it either!LBM: Dec 2012 - Debt £38,180/ Now £0.

Caz, I didn't know of the wreck of the week blog! Very interesting!
Muhren - be proud of the way you've recovered! Many of the debts we started here with were from our own mistakes - mine were, I made a stupid investment which I'm still paying for. I've certainly lost money on it. And wasted lots of other money buying useless consumer junk.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
I think once I have paid it off I will be able to look back and be proud of the way I have recovered. Until then I have to keep plugging away.
I am really struggling for motivation to prepare for my interview on Friday, I haven't done anything for it today so far. Anyone have any tips to help me get in the right frame of mind?LBM: Dec 2012 - Debt £38,180/ Now £0.

I've been self employed for so long I have no idea what interviews are like these days, sorry! The Employment Board on here? Googling the phrase? Research the company so you can think up an intelligent question or two about it, and don't ask solely about holiday entitlement
.... Opportunities for advancement? Don't know if thats good or bad, actually, it depends... good luck anyway!

Muhren, make sure you know as much as possible about the company and role you are interviewing for is my top tip.
Ive been offered a job from every interview ive ever been to and I see myself as rubbish BUT I always research the company and think of ways I might be able to help increase business or make things more efficient etc.
I mainly interviewed for hospitality work so found it easy to research.
I also had a bullet list of things I have done in the past i.e. introducing new systems etctrainee millionaire (aka not there yet!)0 -
caz that's fab about wreck of the week..im sure it will soon be 'of the week' for a much better reason i.e. transformation of the weektrainee millionaire (aka not there yet!)0

You said that you have 10 years of catering experience in your original post. To boost that you could always start a blog to this affect.
Help people with their catering careers by referring them to training courses and earning income from it in the process etc.0 -
So I had my interview yesterday, which went okay, could have gone better but also could have one worse. There are actually three positions available, two of which are in locations suitable for me. It's juts a waiting game now, they said they will let me know within two weeks. The way I am looking at it is, I work in a good team and kinda enjoy what I am doing so would still be content if I didn't get it. On the flip side the new job would be more money and a little bit closer to home if I was offered the job in one of the locations but the job would be a lot more demanding.
On another note I should get the documentation to sign and get counter signed for my car on Monday. It will likely take around 3 months to be delivered but the ball is rolling.LBM: Dec 2012 - Debt £38,180/ Now £0.

Good luck to you - I actually applied for a job that needed a degree but it was for marketing M-F decent wage and they wanted someone to 'play' photographer and design leaflets...so I thought what the hell. Never heard back though...not surprised considering the degree!!
Feel like we are getting a grip on the money situation...credit card bill was under what it should be, the xmas fund pot shouldn't need to much for it and the business bank account hasn't been this high £££ wise in a while - overall my savings are really low, but we took a bad turn last month so time to start putting money away rather then spending to much!
I owe my Dad £960 of the £1500 I borrowed, so tempted to pay it off as just want it over with but it wouldn't leave me with much spare - with xmas coming up I don't want to deplete myself when it may need to be dipped into (hopefully it shouldn't - but perhaps I might need it for business just as much personal)
The last booking I mentioned being 99% secure the deposit has come through and meeting another tomorrow for a short ceremony in March..was hoping to leave Jan-March empty but it's literately a 3 hour job including travel so should be fine to slip it in.
I did a wedding last week and actually not overly happy with the results. I *hope* she will be pleased but the registry office where she got married the lighting was awful so they all came out in a yellowish tint...I've managed to take off most of it with editing but the room is just yellow in general and it was a very low light situation so whilst the noise has been edited they just don't look picture sharp like a professionals would. The couple shots didn't go well either as it was raining and she wouldn't leave the porch of the pub where she was having the reception...so wasn't much I could do but do a few poses with them where they would go. Still think they are nice happy pictures though it's just the backdrop.
My partner says I am to hard on myself and I truly believe I am but I can't help but worry.
I need the more expensive camera really mine is more mid-range. My partner says what do they expect for £££ prices but I genuinely just want them to be happy with them so the sooner I can upgrade my equipment the better..
Here's hoping I can raise enough money by March to fund my photography business so I can start the new year on a good footing...fingers crossed!People don't know what they want until you show them.0
