A blog can really add to a business, I have one. Not updated for 2 year's. But I will go back to it, I know for a fact that it still gets hit as whenever a certain celeb . She's more popular in our industry but has done biggest loser etc. , or the other is a magazine owner, both of which I interviewed for my blogs mini series, if either of them hits the paper's etc my blog gets 500+ hits daily. It's a definite advantage. also people find my blog randomly searching weird things not connected.
Also the clicks to my old retail site were good.Lose 28lb 3/28lb

Good luck with the blog, Listerbelle! Mine is now in its third month and my estimated Google Adsense earnings have reached the giddy heights of 83p
The money for the house has been freed from Santander's grip (long story...) and is now sitting in the mortgage offset account, which is why that bit of my sig is currently looking extremely healthy!

It's a brilliant start, I would be proud of that. :beer:People don't know what they want until you show them.0 -

Thanks! I had meant to have half a dozen or more posts all written and scheduled before publishing the first one, but I got a little carried away at 2am haha.

Good morning everyone
What fabulous progress you are all making with your blogs. You put me to shame.......but ive No regrets I am enjoying a rest. I have had friends over from Belguim this week so have been partying.:D
Well in between playing Florence Nightingale to the cat, he now has cat flu, poor little fur ball. He's feeling so sorry for himself. I haven't got the heart to clear off out and leave him all day so ive just been pottering about.
I have been doing a bit of christmAs shping and some deep cleaning, and cooking for the freezer so DS2 doesn't starve whilst I'm away. He's no cook!!!!
Two weeks till my holiday. Wahoo. And lotS to do yet, Physio, dentist, hairdressers. I'm getting to be a tad high maintenance in my old age.:rotfl: - no more just chucking a few bits into a rucksack and hopping on a plane. These days going away seems to be like preparing for a military campaign.
Still not bought swimweAr etc yet:eek:
So as you can see no time for money making.........
I have bought myself some Spanish language books - Ive got 6 months to brush up my Spanish so I can converse a bit with people at the wedding in Barcelona. I know Catalan is the principal languAge but DILs family and friends all speak Castilian Spanish so I will stick with that. I have a smattering but I really want to do better.
I have been looking at residential courses in Marbella and Malaga - just immerself and really get proficient. Ideally I would like to go around April time. I need to get my act together.
I have also been invited to Belguim next year.....and find a house and make some money and - it will be my 65th birthday.
Help ..........im running out of time.
Perhaps I should clone myself........:rotfl:0 -
Very interested to know how you managed to save for a deposit on your own place whilst at uni - did you do this entirely alone, or have any kind of inheritance? I will pass your hints and tips onto my girls!Blogger Yogi Moneysaver Living well on a shoestring0

I've just found this topic - interesting idea. I've always said I want to be a millionaire (in assets) by time I'm 30. I turned 23 a few months ago so have just under 7 years to go. I've got around 46k savings and am just about to start a new job with 30.5k basic salary (with 75% discounted travel, and possible bonus). Hopefully going to be able to buy my first house and save on rent (currently pay £650 a month not including bills, but have no other financial commitment) within the next year.
The plan is that the money will come from property investment - hoping to become a landlord once i've bought my own house, and build up my wealth that way.0 -
LL, that sounds great! I'm with you on learning Spanish, its such a beautiful language. And if you have a smattering of another romance language, or even school age Latin, it will be even better.2023: the year I get to buy a car0

For the newcomers - hello! Going Old Style on here is a good way to learn to cut down expenses, as well as Martin's SOA. Then I'd advise looking at blogs such as MrMoneyMustache, Simple Living in Suffolk, and ... um ... I can't remember any of the other English ones.
Oh! Slowly Fading on here has a money blog, and she was in the Mirror recently, search out The Frugal Cottage.
