  • Glad the cat is on the mend :)

The solicitor has been in touch - it turns out that the crofts are still held in the name of the deceased tenant, which apparently makes life a LOT easier, as all that needs to be done is everyone signing a bit of paper that transfers the tenancies to me rather than having to go through a full assignation. (I'm a bit hazy on the details, but I think it effectively means I inherit them in exchange for the money and therefore it can't be opposed). So all I have to do is deposit the purchase price with my solicitor to be held in escrow and then the executor will sign all the paperwork. The money should arrive in my account some time early next week and then I can take a cheque round to my solicitor. Getting excited now!

This all sounds good (apart from Kaya's overspend, oops!)

I'm getting to grips with things more and more, and realising how unhappy I am when all of the house and all of the garden are overwhelmed, untidy, dirty, etc - getting to grips with it so it's a pleasure to get up in the morning is the first thing, the table is still clear for the cat design work and I'm unearthing the materials and re-arranging to make sure everything's accessible, which is new :) Accessibility is definitely the new buzzword round here :)

Yes, Ms-night-Ryder. A 33 day cruise around the Caribbean.......very extravagant but why not, you only get one life.

Actually I am very tired and feeling quite run down at the moment , so I am hoping that it will do me good. I think it will also be a kind of transition thing, leaving the mantle of widowhood behind me and stepping out into a new life as a singleton.

That doesn't mean That I am about to climb onto the dating merry go round or that I am setting my stall out to find another partner........

It's just that I think it's time to join the land of the living again.

Time to start travelling a bit, getting out and about and having a few adventures before im too old and decrepit.

Time to live a bit before the nursing home beckons.

Kaya - 4 weddings under you belt already. Wahoo. Go you.

Re the overspend, well we all do it from time to time.

Don't worry - it's done now. Just pull back again before it becomes too much of a habit. As I say I have been spending a bit too much. Some frivolous and fun, some necessary. I shall be living a very frugal and simple life after Christmas and will also pull my finger out and start making some more money to replenish the coffers.

Karma - glad to hear all is well. I'm with you on the mess and clutter making us feel overwhelmed. I am thinking I might engage a cleaning company once in a while, say every three months or so to give the place a deep clean.

It would probably be cheaper than wrecking my back and paying for Physio. If they do the heavy stuff every now and then I should be able to keep on top of things. It will also free up my time and energy so I can focus on earning more.

Caz. It's all looking very positive. Hope everything is finalised soon. It's a great project.
  • Ll I'm jealous!

Hope you have fun, the next 3 week's will fly by! Just think you will dodge the dodgy weather for a whole month.

You never know what can happen on your cruise, you could make a ton of new friends, maybe come back with a toy boy.! Hahaha, I kid, just take it as it comes and live in the moment, after all, that's all any of us can really do.

Eee 33 day cruise OH dad has just booked three weeks to America on some tour...would love to go to New York but would need shopping money to.. ;)

Wedding four delivered and Bride said they were wonderful and I'd captured some really lovely natural moments ..I'm just glad they are happy with them I was pacing round the kitchen after I had delivered them lol.

Can't believe you didn't get your machine MNR :( Actually gutted for you.

KC - I know what you mean, actually the house is getting a bit bad (although no where near what I could be like eepp..) I'm actually just thinking last Xmas with my business all the cleaning went to pot and the house did get pretty bad because I was non stop busy and OH doesn't know how to put butter in the fridge once he's used it etc (domestic dispute lol) so perhaps I should have a deep clean myself whilst I have time.

I'm gutted I have an office but don't ever step inside it other then to grab stock - I just don't get chance to actually sit in it and work with kids etc and I basically have my printer on the dining room table Monday-Friday and pack it away over the weekend (I do *try* and have weekends off)

I'm a workaholic - I did 500 bulk order last weekend + had all the photos to edit they ended up with 180 over 2 hours I worked all day Friday to get them done and said right I'm having the weekend off now...so what do I do? Friday evening I'm twiddling my thumbs so I have started tweeking my photography website and put a banner up on my page..also started work on my side projects which I've been meaning to do for a while but I'm trying to put more spare time into actually starting a few of these.

I guess it's fun for me...I just don't have any hobbies other then photography which is hard to pursue - if I'm out with kids it's hard to take pictures and be a 'Mum' when they fall over etc and I've got this camera in my hand. At least when I am working a wedding I get to just take pictures all day I do enjoy it I have to admit :D

Other then that I do love my TV show once upon a time but I don't even watch TV anymore other then Peppa Pig..etc lol.

Thinking earlier some wedding venues don't allow you to take photos from the front of the ceremony room but from back of the room, the main lens I am missing is 70-200 long length lens but it's around £1,000 second hand but I think I will need to get my hands on it before next year weddings start around April..I've got two more in Nov/Dec but they are short hours and not really a lot of pressure ones but I've got some churches next year and 1 I've not shot in one yet and 2 they tend to more stricter on rules and 3 they are generally lower light then most places so they are scaring me quite a bit but I will deal with it when it comes..I've managed so far I just need to get organised as possible.

+ I got an enquiry earlier X photographer quoted me £1,100 for a full day what can you do for me? I was a bit taken back cause I am no where in same league as the guy he was on about but when I said 250 for 8 hours but I am very new and more for people just after natural moment shots of the day then the posed ones he said that's more in my budget!...not booked yet as he hasn't sorted his date but thought it was quite funny.

Right I guess I better carry on with my website!

Sounds good to me, Kaya - sounds great, in fact! Maybe you can't uplift your prices to £1100 just yet, but you're on your way!

The family wedding I'm going to next year is full of surprises ....the wedding dress currently favoured costs £12,000 apparently, and no, thats not a typo. Astonishing. People with money, hey! When *we're* all multimillionaires, we'll do that too :D

I've been digesting an early lunch, and trying to understand pinterest while I do it. I joined it ages ago, for one blog, followed 11 people immediately but never did anything else with it. Five people have followed me in the meantime, and I've still not done anything with it :o

Time to learn! So I've made two boards, got ideas for a few more, we'll see. Its all about finding more audience for the blog (and the books, eventually), but it needs input, of course. Still, I find it really interesting.

Hope everyone's having a nice Sunday.

I've been meaning to start a blog for about, oh I don't know...two or maybe three years. I've had lots of different ideas, but eventually I just figured I'd go for one that is less professional and simply more "me".

I'll keep you all posted as to how it's going. I've published my first article/story/post, the first of two or possibly three parts. Once it's looking ok I'll share the link via PM.

Hope all is well with everyone!

These blogs are my 3rd and 4th, Listerbelle, and basically, you've made exactly the right decision - you can think something is a good idea for a business, but if your heart isn't in it, its just not interesting enough to stay with. Blogging about it and thinking about it become a nightmare.

    Let us know!

Pinterest has been funny - my smallholder online friend wanted to join to, and I was telling him how to go about it - i.e. on stuff that I'd been reading up on earlier in the day :rotfl: it felt very weird. Good tho!

I have two side projects that involve blogs (well more ideas atm) and whenever I sit down to start I end up jotting notes and thinking about the blog design so I decided to jump in with the content..I've basically started writing the blog articles into notepads documents.

It's not really going to be a blog that you would read down more of an information blog where each 'page' is a new thing so it works for me. I guess it would be better as just a website really...!

I figured I would need 20-30 pages worth of content before there's any point making it live so may as well do it that way and it's going to be step by step guide that needs photos for every page to...(at least I can combine it with my passion lol)

I wish I was a better writer but I think in the scheme of things as long as the content is informative and to the point, despite not being the best writer I am hoping it will still be a success.

I won't say I'll keep you updated as I think this is going to be a few years before I take this idea off the ground but I feel better that I have made a start...I'm going to have so much free time when the children are at school but it's still so far away but I do think there is a market for it....

The other photography blog I think will come in time to, but I'm not worrying about that until later on down line when people will actually take me seriously. No one is going to want to hear advice from an amateur.

+ Also spending cut backs is going really well, so far I'm sticking to £20 a week and he is on £40 a week. I've had to put a few things on card like nappies (my Nan has stopped buying them out of the blue I think she is annoyed at me..long story) but nothing major.

Stops us buying so many takeaways to... ! (Diet starting again today..lol although it's more important I get fit and I think this walking to school every day has improved my energy levels)

Right...today's plan get my work done which shouldn't take long and put my printer away for the weekend and hopefully spend some time this weekend doing research on photography areas I am lacking.
