With the DS games I traded them in to Amazon (check out their trade in store). I got more for them there however it is paid in Amazon credit, which I am planning to use for Xmas :T.

Hope you get vodafone sorted soon hun, and well done on getting your DFD down by one month:j ... i did a snowball and just about had a heart attack! It shows my DFD as Feb 2035 at the rate we are paying:eek:

So DH's wages will be getting used primarily for saving to get enough to pay debts off in lump sums ... starting with the dreaded council (only £180 to go on that ... hoping DH will pay that off completely).

I have a second bank account where I receive a small pension from a previous job ... it has been used to top things up but has an O/D of about £35 on it ... I have arranged for my quidco money to go in there which will pay off the O/D and leave it £50 in credit ... am hoping to use this as a kind of savings account and try not to touch it at all ... unless it is to pay extra into my catalogue ... I am going to be seriously naughty and buy all the kids chrimbo pressies from it ... even worse i'm going to use the buy now pay later which i hate but if I get a proportion of DH's wages paid into the account then I will be able to pay the chrimbo pressies off quicker ...

DH is also standing for council in the May elections up here ... fingers crossed he gets elected as that will be another £16K in the pot ... he won't have to use that much of it apart from buying himself a car so hopefully I will get a fair whack from that in the account too (fingers crossed he gets elected :D).

He has applied for a promotion at work already ... his contract is for 16 hours, that went up to 24 cos someone walked and they had an 8 hr contract going and he got in first ... his boss is wanting him to have ALL the training going ... methinks they want to train him for supervisor or managerial

If he gets the promotion he will be on about £12K and as his work is just down the road and he has a bike currently ... I think I am justified in asking for half of his wages ;) then if he gets elected he will be on a total of about £28 so I will be asking for more money then and fingers crossed we can get out of this hole we are in and start being able to think about buying the house we currently live in.

That would be wonderful ... being able to tell his ex-gf who lives across the road to get off my private property ... not that she comes in the gate ... for some reason she is petrified of me :D probably cos I am twice her size :rotfl:

In the meantime ... he has a hearing about a previous job that I am not allowed to talk about ;) but if that goes in our favour that will be about £100K in loss of earnings alone. Well enough to buy this place and pay off all the debts ... now that is something worth hoping for ... :D

Right, I'd best go and get the little rugrats fed ... cat is snuggling on the sofa looking at me as if to say "ah this is the life" lol:rotfl:
    LBM - August 2008 - Debts then - £33390 - 2nd LBM - November 2009 - Debts then - £18500:mad:

  • Lots on the go at your place and you seem happier with the hubby, long may it last

I just hope all that pans out for you, life is a cart of turnips, as granny used to say.

Hard work to pick peel and chop but worth mashing.

    daft old bird she was.

But her quotes make more sense to me now!

  • :rotfl:Today, I am unreasonably excited. Nothing of note to report, and a headache at the very front of my head from a very strong latte a workmate bought me:j (water now until 3pm) and a little bit trepidation at the prospect of our weekend away next week.

As you are all painfully aware and undoubtably do the same things, everything has a budget.:money:

Myself and the lovely DH (he has been a nice man today therefore warranting use of the adjective lovely) decided on an activity budget of around 80 pounds. Now this is a princely sum for the likes of us frugal types who forage for berries and stuff. It consitutes a lovely little overpayment, a fortnights worth of groceries, or 2 months worth of :Dcoal.

    You get the idea

Basically for that amount of money we are talking three of us doing half an hours archery and having a fiver left.:(

Its meant that myself and DH will fund DD2 to do whatever she would like to, but shall stick to swimming or walking and things which are free. After all there is food and stuff to be purchased too. Our surname is not Onassis. I may even get to forage for pinecones and stuff for the fire.

Im just a little nervous that I will be bullied and made to feel bad about not spending money doing things.

Another facet to this is DH youngest brother announced that he wont want Xmas presents off us this year, and he wont be buying for us.:( He did want to buy for our kids but we said no, you arent if we cant buy for you... We manage to budget and include Christmas... They drink smoke spend copious amounts on clothes and general tat, but will be completing on their house at christmas time so wont want to spend on presents. Ive already bought their blummin gifts, and whats gettint me is that we would be happy with a bottle of wine and box of chocs between us. When we are away they are doing some mighty expensive things. They have also recently returned from a foreign holiday. It seems the thing which has to give is Christmas. When I think of the pleasure MIL gets from watching everyone exchange gifts it sticks in my craw. They cant budget!:money:

However, the bets are on that MIL will have a quiet word with me about not allowing youngest BIL to buy for the kids as apparently his GF is upset about that. I can handle it. Whatever are you upset for love? You can go out an buy more lime green nailvarnish which you will then give away as you actually dont like it or maybe more ludicrous footwear instead. :rotfl:

That was a rant. I actually like them, they are just foolish and Ive bought their gifts and have WAYYY less disposable income than they do at the moment.

Also Ive contacted the Vodafone rep on here. See if they can sort things out for me. Money is still there to pay it. :j

Had a bit of a result too from Lewis Group who are handling my dirty Welcome debt. I owe 1700 ish credit report says 4400.

Obviously WRONG. So contacted Lewis group said I am tackling that debt next, will be maintining minimum payment at a higher rate than previously agreed and also making additional payments to get this gone. I suggested that if they did reflect the correct amount owing on this card it would help my credit rating, and increase my chances of cheaper credit card borrowing, opening up the option of a balance transfer and therefore enabling me to better pay off my debt with them.

    Incentives abound!

Anyway lewis collect for welcome they have not bought the debt.

More ebay money in today, and tax credits. All divvied out to relevant debts and spend lists, and amex is being focussed as its due first this month - its not a massive amount so can just clear it, and it has no interest but I prefer to chip away as part of the getting ahead with the monthly bills I love so much!!

And thats all for now, its time for my rice salad!

Stick their presents on eBay and put it towards your debt! I agree with you whole-heartedly. Christmas has become about how much to spend on each other and equal sized gifts etc. I like the idea of a bottle of wine or chocolates, what matters to me is spending the day with family around the fire eating drinking and being merry.

I'd so be inclined to make a few pointed remarks about how you are budgeting so much but still managed to budget for reasonable presents for everyone. But that's my mean side coming out a bit. :)

Anyway lewis collect for welcome they have not bought the debt.

So does that mean you have to speak to Welcome about correcting the error? Have you put a notice of correction on in the meantime?

Just wondering, is it a case of them having not updated the figure for a while? Did you owe £4400 then make a £2700 payment? If so, it might just be a case that they are less frequent at supplying the credit agency with up-to-date figures than other lenders. Just a thought. I may be waaaaaay wide of the mark.
