A decision has been made
This is rather momentous, and required red writing and Underlining, and now I shall go and bold it too, ah thats better.:j
Tonight blogettes, I pay off Vodafone. This will boost me RIGHT up. I owe myself the money (to my savings funds - so am continuing the 1v100day challenge and reimbursing that) but this is fabulous stuff. :T
This also releases the massive sum of £5 per month and this is going to fight my next victim, Welcome.
Now Welcome is handled by Lewis Debt recovery. I owe them 1860 pounds. On my credit report it states defaulted balance 6000 and current balance 4500. As you can imagine this is to my detriment when I am trying to get a 0% balance transfer sorted to clear the rest of my stuff.:o
Mind you, Vodafone have been a bit slow updating their records with my drip payments, and I have repaid them a fair bit but my balance on line shows 400, and a default balance of 700, when in reality its down to 323.:p
So tonight I get rid of it, but its official date of death is going to be 23rd November, when the challenge ends.
Yesterday I left work early as DS was ill, so I will work this time back. I have plenty to get on with so this wont be hard. Also I sorted ebay to post and I have those in the car, as after work I am collecting DD2 from Science club prior to collecting DS.:A
Tonights meal is an already prepared pre frozen batchcooked shepherds pie. No work involved. Tomorrow is the same, but coq au vin, Thursday is the hubbys mexican cooking night and on Friday we are having tuna steaks (in freezer) with chips.
Its a low spend week and we need to get just veggies and random items and because I picked up some carpet mousse yesterday we have £19 remaining. Any money left will be added to the week after.
Once I have replaced the "borrowed" monies into the savings pot, I can then concentrate on tackling my next "victim" which is Welcome.
Just a smidge more momentum to the cart before my wheels drop off.
Balls in the air? You got it. Vodafone, hubby new car, debt repays, credit repair, mortgage of rented house, and various savings pots for things which are breaking, about to break and have the potential to no longer work.
Lol
Oh and the break in Cumbria in 2 weeks, snow is forecast... My rickedy old car will not enjoy, this is what we call a challenge.:rotfl::rotfl:

Congratulations! Such a good feeling to cross one off the list. Well done.
I'm having shepherd's pie today too. When I arrived at work with my stack of tupperware containers full of batch cooking for the week EVERYONE that walked past made some sort of comment. I'm afraid I lost my rag when the 48th person made a joke in the space of 5 minutes. Oops :-)
So you said you owe Welcome £1860 but on your credit file it says £4500, is it that the balance on your credit report just hasn't been updated, or do you face a fight with them to update it with the correct info?December 2005 TOTAL DEBT at its worst - [STRIKE]£20,596[/STRIKE]

As far as I am concerned TJ, once the balance is cleared they can mark it as settled and I see it as a real incentive to get it sorted.
Once its repaid, in FULL then I will want it marking. Right now, its just giving me more fire in my belly.:mad:
The Pie of the Shepherds is the way forward on a Tuesday.:T I will not however subscribe to predefined meals on certain days, like pork chop wednesday or toad in the hole monday. However both of those sound marvellous.
Anyway, at the moment I am picking my battles, as I am mother of 3 - who expect me to do things like mothering... work full time - they also annoyingly want a piece of me and have the mythical air balls, I will satisfy myself with scathing letter writing once they have it settled.:rotfl::rotfl:
Or am I missing a trick??? Can someone advise??? If I let this slide is it not just curtains but lined curtains with a pelmet for my credit report??:eek:Trying to shift that debt!0 -
Thank you Skint ... yeah he does get help from Combat Stress but he could do with going there more often but 1 week 3 times a year is the best they can offer so we just have to get on with it. Well done on clearing the evil vodafone! I got rid of them a while back ... am on a PAYG with O2 now and finding it much easier ... if i have no money i can't use the phone lol.
Am back at work today (having a sneaky skive here tho lol), still feeling poopy but needs must so here i am.
I have a letter at home to post in the morning for the evil tax credits ... i complained in March, got an acknowledgement and it has been ignored by them ever since ... they owe me about £1800 in "overpayments" that should never have been taken from my awards ... doesn't seem that they can actually get anything right!
Have been seriously considering cutting my hours at work in order to qualify for some extra benefits but at the mo just can't really justify it other than it would give me extra time with the little ones.
Best get on with some work ... later xxxLBM - August 2008 - Debts then - £33390 - 2nd LBM - November 2009 - Debts then - £18500:mad:

:mad:Oh get the tax credits written to! I have lost all hope of any idea of what on earth I am due. I just tell them everything and hope.:rotfl:
I am currently paying them over £100 a month back:mad:, while they pay me £57 a week:cool:. It beggars beleif.
They also decided my husband had left me at one point.;)
Whoever is leading this exciting life ( and it wasnt me and nor did I notify them) was meant to have their tax credits changed not me.
So I have had to pay back 1200 in total, this ends in April next year, when undoubtably my children might have left home. Even if they havent.:rotfl:Trying to shift that debt!0 -

I think that you are entitled to make snide comments about them paying 2 to 3 quid for a miserable supermarket sandwich and a packet of crisps, while you enjoy a delicious homemade lunch. :rotfl:
I know people who earn 80 to 100 grand a year, but still bring homemade lunches most of the time.0 -

This would be a no spend day if I wasnt paying back Vodafone! But thems the breaks.
Oh I shall gloat for a whole hour once they are gone from my conciousness. I will ask searching questions on their removal from my credit file of any outstanding balance. I will probably write an official letter too.
Oh the joy. I cant wait!Trying to shift that debt!0 -
Is it wrong that I will be filling the car with petrol TODAY as my no spend day is already scuppered, so I can get a NSD tomorrow instead?
I think it negates the point of the NSD somewhat, but no matter, its all for the no spending good!Trying to shift that debt!0
