  • Sorry me luv been as busy as a bee, dnt need a d n c but both kids have had sickness and diahorrea and the temperature has been a bit warm for small people with viruses! Have planted out a lot of veggies when my mothering gene failed... I am no nurse, but I will clean up the mess and mop brows, but I cant remain empathic, I am afraid its more of an I never did this but still gotta clean it up attitude. Happy to give hugs and medicine though. Is that enough? I dont know. They have had plenty fluids and that. Not really sure what else I should be doing and feel like an idiot really. Kept them cool, hydrated and clean of any expelled stuff. While having a stiff drink between clearing it up!

    ((hugs to all ))

Had another letter about PPI. I have lost all track, but its being handled. I hope its handled and the result is I get cash. Thats good handling.

Had to spend a foolish amount of money on the husband a new suit for monday. DD2 needed bras. Shes that age where you need to get them and they need to be the " right ones and total cotton" DS didnt need new shoes at clarks. Thats not really money saving. It more "not spending". I didnt want or need anything.
Anyway had to also spend the saved money on DDs bedroom furniture, another lot to go but we have spent 350 quid on Friday. Then the kids got ill. It was eruptive. And also a little scary. The exorcist meets the muppets.

Ive been a bit better still a bit snappy with DH. Will check in on everyones diaries and leave a comment or three and then I shall do totals. Think after vodafone I will tackle welcome.

They are shiesters. I find them to be uckworthy, of the highest orders.

  • Ah skint
You had a dire couple of weeks as well. Hope you start feeling better soon. You better than me i cannot clean up sick. soon as they start i end up joining them. Think someone has looked after me my kids in there 20s and only ever had to clean up sick twice in there life!!! Lucky mine were never ill dunno why. Probably cause they used to chew the carpet as soon asthey started to roll so decided that the dishwasher was good enough to was things up in instead of sterilising everything. Me and health visitor had quite a discussion about that one. Think they immunity is so good because of it!!!!
Go kick those ppi butts make you feel better. see u in ten days going on hols x

  • Monday Morning!

Well its that time of the week again, and its been a good couple of weeks since a heres what I am thinking kind of an update, so I think half an hour of speil is required.

Well I am at a crossroads, I have hit a target and yet I owe still just over 30k of debt. This is not a good place to be, as I want to be below that 30k mark, but any targets must be realistic and appropriate.

The facts are we can pay off 2k of debt a month - meeting all minimum payments and eating into residual balances. We arent doing it completely smartly I think. I need to revisit it and do some snowballs.

However, my priority to release extra money cant be the highest balance at the moment. I need to pay off the dirty stuff from my credit file. The 2 offenders are Vodafone and welcome. Vodafone is going, as of the end of the 1v100 day challenge. Ive only got 80 left to find and if necessary I will use the savings pot and actually clear it before the end of this month. However I will repay the savings pot and see the challenge out. (if that makes sense)

My priority is to get my debt levels right down, so I can mortgage on my rented house.
Means debts in DH name take a back seat and we just manage them in, but we are ok with that. Its now Vodafone and welcome - which are both defaulted then capital payments against a "clean" TFS loan. which was taken out to help the husband purchase the other house. The reasons to do this are because to rent the house costs 450 per calendar month, to mortgage it is about 250 per calendar month, and we own it then.

I need to up my game with ebay and surveys and get some more stuff sold and more money in. This money is going to be split according to my crazy debt book - which I carry with me and every item on there has money paid toward it. It is the getting ahead with the monthly bills thing I do. It just means at the end of the month you make some really meaningful lump sum payments against debts. That is very uplifting!

Also in the crazy debt book is a list of spends. Like a spending diary but if i spend on a credit card (which I do - I cycle money through them and get 30 days interest free as much as possible) I make sure that money is put back. It works for us. The husband sometimes loses his receipts but he checks his credit card statements religiously and updates me so I am not complaining too much.

He only uses it for small purchases.

As for the rest of the month we have got a freezer FULL of food, and we only need bits - fresh fruit and veggies and stuff. Perhaps breakfast bars to save on work spends but we are very meat heavy and have plenty to keep us going. I am going to work on a list basis and only buy from the list.

Maximum spend for fruit and veg eggs and bits for baking is to be £20 per week for the rest of the month. This is easily achieveable. My washing powder from wilkinsons is 2.79 and fabric softener is 2.00 and I use one each of these a week, so it leaves 15 for the rest.

This gives me the chance to recoup from a heavy spending few days! I am my own worst enemy but I need to be accountable for these things, so a bit like the Greek government there are austerity measures.

We are back on to the lunch into work and meal planning with a vengeance.

I didnt buy anything personally but as a family we did spend alot and it doesnt sit well!

    These things happen though.

We are desperate for a car for DH, he starts his new job today so his salary uplift needs to go to that.

We need to finish the work on the other house, and I have a fund and need to get the bathroom suite etc sorted. Then there is flooring etc to sort. I am getting there with the savings for this.

Hey, rome wasnt built in a day, and we have had a little slippage in the dates, but by February next year we shall have a house ready to give us a rental income.

I wont beat myself up about not having it completely ready. But this is a prime focus for me alongside my personal debts now.
