    Morning everyone

Sunny, bright and warm here this morning.

DH up and off to work but not at stupid early o'clock, so a nice cup of coffee brought to me before he left. Dinner last night was smoked sausage pasta. Must get back to meal planning properly as have been so busy haven't done it and meals and shopping are so much more difficult without it. Tonight will be quick tea as DS1 has Cadets.

Work wasn't as busy as it has been yesterday so was able to catch up with a emails etc. Washing on the line, not enough to make another load yet. Downside of this is the size of the Ironing mountain, but pleased I've managed to get it all line dried.

Not much else to say really, keep safe and well everyone, hugs to those that need them.

    Morning EG and everyone else

Had several showers yesterday, one really sudden and VERY heavy, like a monsoon! Think it's blown itself out for now, definitely cooler, but at least it's a sunny start to the day.

Missed last couple of days' chat, so hugs and kisses if you need 'em for any reason! :kisses3:

Got two job interviews today, one at lunchtime, one early evening, so lots of mad rushing around today. Had to ask mum to babysit at lunchtime, everyone I know is working or otherwise engaged. She's always worried that she'll not be able to catch kids in time if something happens! I'm sure she'll be fine :D

In and amongst, I also have to clear kitchen, clean bathroom, put away ironing, do a few loads of washing and strip my bed!

Have a good morning all, hope I can pop back later.

    A xo

Hi folks, just a quick post to say "hello" :hello:
......I went in yesterday after all....was awful, boss spoke to me like I was a 3 year old within 10 mins of me being there:(
I soooo wanted to just hand my notice in yesterday and only have 4 weeks to work. I think i will hand it in in 2 weeks then that gives me 3 weeks pay for June.
I really dont know if I can cope with working there that long and may go to GP about it soon....

NPM, am probably way behind here, but have you checked out your Dignity at Work policy, and do you have Union support if you are signed off sick and they pursue it due to other Noah-related absences?

We're still sorting out our new bathroom - got everything chosen, just need the plumbers to say "yes" to what we want....should be happening next month. Only problem is that we only have 1 toilet.... and I will have to be up & out for work everyday while the bath is being replaced & shower fitted & tiling done....may have to start going swimming to use their showers! :D

DH is away this week, flew off in the thunderstorms yesterday evening. DS2 is still with us, starting to crack on with his MA dissertation though so we don't see much of him except at mealtimes!

Work has suddenly gone a bit wobbly for me & my colleagues.... our council changed from blue to red last week, and as yet we are not sure what the impact of the new administration's election "promises" will be, but one of them was to cut the cost of the senior grades that we support. Oh well, we'll manage if it happens, just hope they wait a few more weeks until I've got another full year's service in, so I would get an extra 1.5 weeks pay-off. TBH, I've been doing a bit of thinking anyway, in long-term preparation for the next round of local government cuts so I've got a few things up my sleeve ;)

WM has been on overnight, am about to empty & load again, wet clothes will go onto the airer. Need to wash-up before going to work. Not sure what's for tea tonight....maybe carbonara with the last bits of bacon. Really must do battle with the dust-bunnies in our bedroom tonight, also need to go & collect new sunglasses from opticians - chose some lovely Guess frames for my tinted driving glasses but they got chipped when being glazed and the frames have warped, so Boots have replaced them with some more sturdy Lulu Guinness ones. :)

Right, am off to get dressed & find an envelope for the book I've just sold on Amazon - will pop in later, :grouphug: for everyone

    Love Floss xx

  • Floss,, no have not checked anything like that out. ...this is why I am reluctant to go off sick as I dont want them to be able to do anything like get rid of me while working my notice when sick iykwim.....cant really leave any earlier than middle of June as I want some pay at the end of June even if it is only 3 weeks worth.
    Not long to go now.......

sorry to hear about your job:o I think most people like you have something up their sleeve as no one feels safe atm
  • BB...have you seen the tent up and checked amount of room etc....in my limited experience they always seem smaller than the amount of people they are meant for and I would be tempted to go for this

or the 8 berth one for extra room....espec if it rains and you are all confined to camp;)

You need to check them out to be sure they are doing what they are supposed to for your & Noah's benefit because I would bet they won't be telling you if there are any concessions to be made - I'm sure they are available on your intranet rather than having to ask for a copy?

TBH, there are only a few main employers in our town - NHS, DWP, council and BAE - all of which are not as secure as they used to be!

    Morning all.
Looks like a nice enough day here. Really, truly am going to the lottie to get my spuds in this morning. I know I have been meaning to the last few days but something always comes up. Had 2 friends pop in at different times for coffee yday, and 2 different friends on the phone for ages needing a sympathetic ear twice also.
Was pleased yesterday, even though I didn't get to the lottie. Have been watching more experienced gardeners and managed to erect a frame in the veg patch and planted all my beans around it and it looks good. Planted a couple of courgette plants in the garden too and some salad potatoes, so we will see how they got on. Radish seedlings are coming up and the beetroot are just peeping. Hopefully going to have a bumper crop of strawberries and raspberries too this year.

Apart from the lottie, usual housework here, a wee bit of fruit and veg shopping, and dh off, so more busy than normal. No idea what is for dinner. Will go and have a nosy in the freezer. Have pollock in there, so may do it in breadcrumbs or batter with HM wedges.

(((hugs))) to those in need. Have a good day all.

NPM My heart goes out to you. I really hope there is some way you can find to leave work early and still get paid for a while. Some people seem to be 'on the sick' for ever while getting paid. I hope you can get to do it too. It is miserable to be treated like that and be dreading going to work every day.
