Hi taxi, and welcome back. Take things easy - nothing more strenuous than lifting a glass of wine and surfing on MSE, do you hear...

Hi you two....how nice to hear from you and thanks for your good wishes....I thoroughly intend to take it easy but may have to skip the wine just yet as I don't think it will go with the painkillers but sounds like a good idea to me lol...glad to see some of my friends are still here as loads of people seem to have gone the last couple of weeks and it seems really quiet...how are you both?..hope you are well...nothing to report on debt busting at the moment as everything is ticking away in the background just now...I'm so glad I dicovered MSE before having the op as I would be in a total pickle by now as I'll be off work for 6 months...but at least I'll get my life back and that's most important...we can luckily pay all the bills and whatever we can off the debts..all be it a little slower than I wanted...and at least I won't have to miss any payments....I have to be thankful for that!!!

I think that the fact that you can expect things to "tick along" over the next few weeks is proof of just how different things are now.

Previously, if you were forced to take time off work, just how much extra debt would you have ended up with at the end of it, putting extra pressure on you to earn more to "catch up"? So, with all the progress that you have made, you can keep the pressure in the background!

Don't know if that makes sense, but I know what I mean, and I think you are doing fab!

(and it is a shame that some of the old regulars have disappeared, I hope they are not gone forever).

Take care and enjoy the rest x

Hi taxi, welcome back I have missed you.

I am so glad the op went well and I am so pleased for you that life will be easier for you now without any of those pre-op 'troubles' to hold you back.

6 months will come around and then you will be up & at 'em I am sure to get the debt down even quicker.

Take care and don't push yourself (I am sure you won't but you know how I worry ;)). Catch you soon.

    LA xx

Hi you 2...thanks for the lovely comments..Hypno you are so right and yes I understand what you are saying as these are my thoughts exactly...I am so glad I found MSE...I hate to think what debt I could've ended up in as if what I owed wasn't enough Lol...I am not worrying about it as there is nothing I can dot about it but I aim to get the halifax CC under £1000 this month....that will be an achievement....
LA glad to see you about too....I have missed everyone so much....and I'm so fed up being stuck in the house.....though I did walk to my friends cafe today...it felt like a marathon!!!.....you're right 6 months will soon pass...I need to find something constructive to do with my time though....you'd think I'd love lazing about but it drives me mad....haven't got a lot to report as usual....seems to be a recurring theme at the moment....but am greatful I am well .....so will sign off for now

Hi everyone:hello: :hello: Hope everyone is well
Just thought I'd pop in as haven't been on last couple of days as I'm still quite tired from my op....OH took me out for lunch today so that was nice we went to a Thai restaurant as it's my favourite....it was so nice to get away from these 4 walls....he insisted on paying as it was his treat.....so that was lovely....
I'm on track to get that halifax card under a £1000 this month:j :j :j :j ....Incapacity benefit phoned me today to ask me something ...so I asked when I may be paid and she said it will be in my bank in about 5 working days so I am going to use these moneys towards paying my credit card off as well as OH is earning enough to pay all the bills at the moment....
Still haven't heard anymore from Airtours yet....can't expect anymore from an incompetent firm can I...when I have the strength to search out all the papers I will either take them to court or Abta ...haven't made my mind up which yet!!!!
Spent a little more money than normal on silly things like magazines as I've been stuck in the house ...will have to stop doing this ....as that money could stay in my purse and be paid off a CC...but shopping was cheap this week £17 in Aldi and £20 dog food which last ages...so not all bad...shopping will probably be £20 or less a week now for ages as my freezers and cupboards are full...so I only need bits...:D :D:D

Hi Taxi, things look to be going reasonably well in the circumstances, just a shame you haven't yet had a result from Airtours - keep on hassling them!

Thai food - yummy!! It is just about my favourite (well, the favourite thing that isn't either chocolate or Ben and Jerrys ice cream) and unfortunately our finances do not stretch to eating out. However, my lovely mum does take me to her local thai restaurant for my birthday and things like that so I do get to go occasionally.

We cook a fair bit of thai at home, have to order the ingredients on the internet though, but they are dead cheap usually so very DFW!

Hi Hypno I've never cooked Thai but may try to in a couple of months when I'm allowed to lift a pan....will do it DFW way though and get a book from the library...
It's my favourite too as it's so healthy, tasty and colourful....we had a banquet ...it was lovely!!!I also love chocolate and ice cream but can no longer have them as while in hospital...found out my IBS was lactose intolerance so am on soya now....so I have to go to a large supermarket and get stuff off the free from range or the health shop so at least it's taking my chocolate cravings away as I can't get there!!!...my stomach has been so much better and I don't ever want it to feel bad again...I had a bar off dairy free mint chocolate last week and it was lovely!!!
