    Evening Hypno and all...
I'll consider myself well told off then!!!!...LOL...true I shouldn't be as hard on myself as I am so will try harder...the 40 hours a week I can manage and the washing and little jobs so will carry on with them and keep those things the same.I am going to bow out of the housework challenge though as it's a little too much pressure at this time.
I had a lovely long soak in the bath last night and just chilled out.Today I've been to work and it was a bit quieter but still ok..tomorrow I'm not doing too much either just work, banking and shopping at Aldi...so not too much...what a boring life I lead...
Specsavers phoned this afternoon to say all the glasses are ready...how quick was that?..we only went on thursday!!!....so we'll pick them up on thursday on our day off...
Hope everyone is having a good weekend..take care xx

I don't think your life is any more boring than most of ours! We are too skint to do anything too exciting!!

One day though......one day I will lead an exciting life.

That is if I am not exhausted by then and have the energy to do anything remotely exciting!!

Evening all..not a lot to report again as the day was pretty much the same as any other...put my £100 away for my tax and have done the shopping....oh and I got a £5 morissons voucher today when I filled up....so that's put away towards next christmas..
Had a word with my mortgage advisor today and because I have more than 50% equity in the house then a remortgage won't be a problem as I'm self cert ...I thought I was sub prime but I'm not as I've never missed or had a late payment in my life...so that was reassuring...and he's going to get me one with no fees, free valuation etc....as I don't owe very much anyway...I'm thinking of bringing the mortgage term down from 19 years to 5 or 10 years with an option to overpay as much as I want...he thinks he'll be able to get all that...I can't remortgage until march but we are sorting it in jan...
Sorry that there's nothing exciting going on...

  • Now Mrs taxi you must stop saying nothing interesting going on! Have any of us! The most exciting thing that I've had happen to me recently was findin out that I got cashback on my bra from quidco and I'm young free & single & 38!! Then there was the exciting £15 cheque in the post today but thats just about as exciting as it gets here!! Most people dont have wildy exciting lives, no matter what the TV implies! So you stop apologising and plod along with the rest of us! and as for only working 40 hours a week! I'm with hypno! Thats pleanty!!
Seriously my lovely look at your totals, compare it to mine and have a wee smug feeling on me! You're doing amazingly so stop knocking it! In fact can you pass some of the debt busting magic over to me - I'm rubbish at it in comparison but know I WILL get there in the end!

Good news about the remortgaging, taxi. I am *so* with you on the way we lead boring lives right now. I phone my mother by arrangement twice a week, to check on her, and she always asks "what are you doing", like she wants to be entertained by my wonderful single life. And I have to say, digging the garden, or walking to the local shops.... one day...... like hypno said above, one day.... I'll go to the theatre every week (I did that when I was a student, for heaven's sake!), I'll go away on holiday regularly again... I'll visit friends... oh boy!

Hi Sea...he said one with fees wasn't worth having as we only owe about 47k..so I will have to see what he comes up with..I'm on 1.9% above base rate at the moment but have redemption penalties until march!!!

hello taxi! I'm interested in your mortgage plans as our fixed term ends next spring so I'll be shopping around too. How did you find your mortgage adviser? And how do you know if they're any good?

I laughed at the bra comment ISOM - these little things make us so happy! And you're right, taxi can feel smug compared with most of us (checks to make sure Taxi hasn't beaten me to 35k already)
