    Morning Imp,
Sorry to tell you it was heaven..I gave myself a full sugar scrub and the soaked in a nice hot bubble bath with Liz Earle orange flower wash...then I gave myself a facial...so feel brand new!!!..
You'll really enjoy it when you have your lovely new tiled bathroom...Have a good week yourself

Ooooh Taxi, I'm so green with envy but really glad for you that it was such a success.

We're not having a new bathroom as such(not this decade anyway:rolleyes: ) but just new tiles which DH thinks will give a whole new look for a fraction of the price. But judging by the amount of tiles he's broken trying to cut fiddly bits for fitting all over the place it might have been cheaper to have the full monty installed by experts with all the tiling done too!

By the way, did you ever get any recompense for your lost luggage? I can't remember seeing an update on that and your diary is so popular I haven't the time today to re-read it all :o

    have a lovely day

Hi Imp...I never let DH do anything I'd rather let a professional do the job as like you say...it probably costs less..lol...It wasn't me that lost my luggage it was hypno....mine was an absolutely crap holiday with airtours and I was going to sue them but having had my op and no energy I haven't bothered and am out of time now...not that I could've trusted ABTA either...so left it...
When do you think your bathroom will be ready?...it'll probably look great when it's done.I'm just thinking about getting a plasterer in at the moment but dread to think how much it's going to cost!!!
Haven't done much today..popped to see DD1 new house along with DD2 and then had lunch out and dropped the girls off in town...and have done washing and hung it on line...so not much done!!!
  • Hi taxi! :hello:

Your pampering the other night sounds wonderful!

HI LA..thanks for popping in and thanks for the well wishes...enjoy dinner and take care
  • Hi Taxi

Sorry about the mix-up over who lost the luggage:o , I knew it was someone whose diary I read every day. I knew you'd had some problem with an insurance claim connected to a holiday and I assumed it was luggage going astray as it seems to happen to so many people these days. I'm sorry you didn't get a pay-out though, so unfair.

Don't know when our bathroom will be usable again. DH has told everyone quite catagorically to keep out until it's finished. The mind boggles what it's like in there at the moment:eek: . He keeps having to go off and do something else such as taking our elderly nearly-blind neighbour for hospital appointments 25 miles away just about every other day! Then he recently helped a friend do a DIY house removal which took endless trips and resulted in DH having such stiff muscles for days afterwards that he could hardly move! He isn't a shirker by any means, just the opposite, but I think he learned his DIY skills at the Frank Spencer School of Home Improvements:rotfl:

I think you're very wise planning on paying for a professional to do your plastering. DH plastered our bedroom ceiling once. Enough said!

    Morning Imp and all,
That made me laugh Frank Spencer school of home improvements...that's a good one...lol...bet you can't wait to see it?....I'm fortunate that DH agrees with me that paying a professional is best as he doesn't have the time or the patience!!!!
My DD has got a phone number off one of the gym instructors ...her dad is a plasterer ...so will give him a call...depends how much it costs as to when it gets done..
The post was mixed today...I now have the correct BT bill and am £8.14 in credit ...this will be in my bank account within the next 5 days...I also got my Morgan Stanley statement and have £30+ so have asked for a cheque back...so that's nearly £40 extra to pay towards debt!!!
I'm quite happy as I haven't hit my o/d this month (yet)..but my MS bill is £1756.42 this month ..nearly all tax deductable but not until April really....so that comes out on the 17th..I don't have that much in yet but am trying my best so may have a bit of an o/d for a few days...but don't want too!!!...from next month the MS bills will be a lot less as there will only be fuel on there so will catch myself back up...as both insurances have been paid and loads of other stuff to do with the cab.....being changed!!!!
Only got my badges to pay next month £90....and fuel and subs..so money will be better...
    Have a good day all

HI taxi, I do admire you juggling all those costs. You have made me look at taxi drivers with new eyes - I never imagined there was so much admin and cost involved.

Hope you have a good day and are feeling fit - how is the tummy these days?

Hi Seaxwyn..nice to hear from you and glad you enjoyed your holiday.Yes even taxi drivers(not owners) have loads of paperwork but not as much expense as owners...we all are s/e..so all have tax to sort and n.i....and councils red tape!!!!
Thats why its so hard to budget as as you know we don't get allowed anything until we do the accounts and get billed..so we are sort of getting it but not....it becomes hard as I don't know how much tax I have to pay and it's really hard to save for it because you sometimes need all the money for repairs, insurance or such like!!!!
I'm paying this CC bill this month...then it should be about £500 p/m...so that will be easy to pay...I am keeping a note of how much I need to transfer to the budget pots at the moment as I will be able to catch up with them in a couple of weeks..its pointless going into the o/d to put the tax in savings!!!...I really do not want to put it on a CC again this year...that is why it's so hard to get to £35000 by christmas....but I will do my best...that's all I can do...once all the ccs are paid off it will be a lot easier..to stick to the budgets and save up to overpay the loans....
Its so hard going some days isn't it?...I know I'm going to be well off once all bills are paid..and will work on getting rid of the mortgage ..so it's quite a long haul but I will get there in the end!!!
That was a ramble..sorry!!!!!!...my tummy is a lot better now and I'm planning on going back to work at the end of this month....which should really help with debt busting...thanks for asking

    hi taxi,

I do sympathise, being self-employed involves a lot of hassles and headaches and the twice yearly tax bills are a big dread. I never have the faintest idea what they will be until the bills come (stupid I know) and I never save anything either.

Luckily I don't have much bureaucracy or overheads, my main expenses are just travel to meetings and the occasional bit of stationery.

It can seem like a never-ending struggle but we will get there, just think how rich we will feel when our debts are paid off!
