Great news about the Halifax Taxi.
I'm glad the advance is 0%, I know that a lot aren't.
No idea about OH's van & the fuses. I think he's waiting for me to take it to the garage.
His alternator went a bit back, he left me to take it in, having had the battery on charge all night. I was dreading breaking down on the way.
Hope you have a good day at work, if you ever get there.
And the bad news is....my daughter has broken up from school today. :eek:Official DFW Nerd Club - Member no: 203.0 -
Hi Whatwit....hope you are ok..no never got to work today ...that's 3 days now(today is my day off)..the other 2 were unplanned but necessary..she's broke up early...lucky you...lol...I hate going to the garage feel a right idiot as I don't know anything about cars..lol...it was the mbna card that let me do the transfer into a current account at 0%...thought I might as well...£3000 int free isn't to be sniffed at ...sorts the tax and od out...stll got loads left 0% on hal;ifax card but can't do anything with that really as everythings on 0%...I may come up with a brainwave..lol0

Hi Taxi, hope you've had a good day.
Have you eaten through the contents of your freezer yet.Official DFW Nerd Club - Member no: 203.0 -
Hi LA and Whatatwit,
Hope you're both well...I haven't eaten through the contents of my freezer or my cupboards yet...so that really helps with the budget...I bought 6 loaves for freezer this week and 5lbs potatoes...cheap shop eh!!
Yippee I managed to get to work today ...it wasn't overly busy but I did ok...Did get a phone call off the OH to say the picture on the telly was bad ...the silver thing on the aerial is wobbly...this may have something to do with it..will give someone a call but they'll have to come in the afternoon when he's up...I'm not taking time off...nothing much to report today...that's it for now!!!0 -
I love the technical term...the silver thing is wobbly.
OH got his van sorted out today, and got a puncture in the car. I noticed it when mum dropped me off last night.
He was not a happy bunny, so he had today off to sort out both car & van. I'm still hard at work, making butties.
Night folks, catch up with you all later.Official DFW Nerd Club - Member no: 203.0 -
Oh well ...it never rains but it pours!!!...if it's not one thing it's another...glad he got the van sorted...shame about the puncture....the more I try to save money ..the more I spend...LOL...will phone the aerial man in the morning...night0

Afternoon Taxi, van broke down today on the M6...oh dear....now he's coming down with man-flu....."I'm cold and wet and my boots are leaking".....is how the conversation went (I've removed the F words)
I was of course very sympathetic.
I hope you've had a busy day, although the weather has been awful.
I've got to go back to work now. Catch up later.Official DFW Nerd Club - Member no: 203.0 -

Hi LA and Whatatwit...sorry to hear about the van...and the man flu...hope they both get well soon..:j ...I think everyone is having a bad week this week..we're all cursed:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
There was me this morning thinking...I've had my bad luck for now!!!!...How wrong can I be!!
The first half hour of the day was fine..made myself a cuppa ...put computer on and hey presto MBNA had credited the £3000 to my account...impressed with that ...it only took about 3 days:T :T :T
Well that's where the good day ended...I phoned the aerial man about the wobbly bit...he said he'd come between 2 and 3...fine
Well off I totters to my car determined to earn money....I tried for 10mins to get the plotting system switched on...to no avail:mad:  ...hence I drove to the office...they then plotted me on...ok I thought just a blip..roadworks seem to have had babies overnight...there's loads of them.. then chapel street junction lights were not working...guess some poor git will get seriously injured there today:mad:   then cos we had to plot verbally..there were that many drivers trying to get through it was taking ages...so missing out on jobs eg took me 10 mins to plot so they had to run a car off another area miles away to pick someone up on the street next to where I was parked:mad:
By this time I'd had enough ...went home and while awaiting aerial man thought I'd ring the tax man to see if I could use a cheque(mine) to pay hubbys tax...imagine my horror when they said they hadn't had any of the tax returns (3)....2 different tax offices involved!!!....I wouldn't mind but the accountant sent me my bill with the figures on on 25 August...  So then I phoned the accountant who said they'd sent them ages ago and had a receipt for them..so I think they're going to send them again..all I want to do is pay them...as we're away a month in january I really need to sort this..I don't want late charges and they weren't very useful at the tax office either...my accountant wants me to leave the cash with him...I'm not sure about this!!!..what do you think?....I'm sooo mad:mad:0
