Well Bovis finally got back to us this morning saying that our offer was rejected (as we expected!) and that they were looking for us to pay the asking price (not expected!!)
Sales rep said that if we offered £190k for the house it should make them think but he still couldnt guarantee they'd accept.
We told him we couldnt afford it and went away to think things over. We've made a full and final of offer of £186k plus flooring throughout, we made it clear that this was our very best and that we would walk away if they couldnt accept it as hubbys job cannot be held up in the air forever. Sales rep said it thought it was a fair offer and made some positive noises but im not that hopeful lol!
Should find out tomorrow so fingers crossed0 -
Good luck MeShell!
On my front now, I tried to knock mine down another few K to 138K but Barratts are having none of it, its 75k for my house (which is currently up for sale at 80) and they will reduce theres from 151 to 140. The sales lady told me she would try and get carpets for me aswell, but cant promise anything. Im going to tell them we will do the deal for 140 but only if they can promise the carpets.0 -

Oggy they told us they would do a deal as long as we completed by end of june- in fact i think they talked it up too much- Which is why of course i wasnt expecting "pay the asking price"!
Anyway our sales rep has called to say that the area sales manager is going to discuss our offer with the managing director tomorrow morning- this is further than the last one got so its slightly more positive that they are considering it seriously! Am trying not to get too hopeful though!
Macflair hope they throw the carpets in for you- tbh i cant see them losing a sale over them.0 -

Cheers for the support people. Hopefully they wont get all giddy and tell me they wont do the carpets, it would be a pain in the !!! and expensive for me to get the carpets in haha.

Well really don't know whats going on. Still waiting for the results of the survey on the house we are Part exchanging, its been 2 weeks now.
Thing is the sales advisors at the development haven't heard anything either not even an update from the PX manager at their office.
The sales advisor called me yesterday asking what was going on, up to now service has been exemplary but this is getting silly now especially when the sales advisor's need to start getting guarantees so they can move the sale along.0 -
