Morning all:D
Just about to start some ironing before DS gets back.
Roast chicken, lemon roast pots and green beans for tea later.
DS will prob want tuna pasta;)
Am thinking about going to see the doctor next week about some time off work....the thought of going in tomorrow is giving me panic attacks:eek:.
DS will play up again in the morning and I will not get hm to school ontime and then will be late for work. No one there even asks if I am ok etc when I arrive crying after wrestling a naked 7 year old around our yard etc fighting to get him ready:o
I dont know if I dare not go in tomorrow, my mum is coming for a few days on Weds and I dont want to feel like I cant go out anywhere , mind you as I work Mon and Tues the rest of week are days off really.
I am a it nervous about leaving work but I never want to nurse again...am sure Molly and Jayward know where I am coming from:o.
FB is it the guy on your FB pics? If so he is cute;)Emjoy yourself:rotfl:
DH taking the pee out of me for dreaming about Simon Cowell:eek::o;)
Am just waiting to eat my bacon sarnie he is going to make me then will crack on with ironing0 -
I think going to the doctor's instead of work tomorrow sounds like a perfectly good idea, NPM. And just because you are off sick doesn't mean you have to be confined to quarters, in fact with depression or stress, the worst thing you can do is stay in the house all the time - look what happened to me last year. xxxIt's what is inside your head that matters in life - not what's outside your windowEvery worthwhile accomplishment, big or little, has its stages of drudgery and triumph; a beginning, a struggle and a victory. - Ghandi0

Morning everyone,
It rained really heavily all last night here as well, hope DS was not washed out of his tent! I am expecting a lot of very muddy washing to arrive this afternoon.
DD2 did really well in her netball tournament yesterday (she is only 11) and came home with a medal that I had to persuade her to take off before she went to bed. It was worth standing in the rain for 3 hours to see the smile on her face:)
Today I have to get the food shopping and meal planning done for this week and do at least 2 loads of washing, where does it all come from? Tea tonight will be a roast of whatever meat is on offer at the supermarket.
If the rain holds off I will also get some of my vegetable seedlings planted out.
Have a lovely day everybody:)
NPM my thoughts are with you, I agree with Jackie, the doctors does sound like a really good idea.0 -

Good Morning all
bargainbird here is the receipe for my fruit cake that I have been making for the past 47 years.Called by my late OH 'Accident cake' as I burnt the first one a bit, and he loved 'crisp 'fruit cake
Accident Cake
half a pint water or stewed strained cold tea
3 ozs Stork marg or butter (depending how flush you are)
3ozs moist brown sugar
4-6ozs mixed fruit (I chuck anything I have in even some cut up glace cherries if I only have a few left over from christmas)
10 ozs self-raising flour
1 level teaspoon mixed spice
1 leve teaspoon of bicarbonate of soda
Grease and then line an 8" deep cake tin with greaseproof paper/parchment so it overlaps the top of the tin
Into a large saucepan put the
water/tea,
marg/butter,
sugar,
dried fruit, bring slowly to the boil and boil for a few minutes, leave to cool for a bit I sometimes bung a beaten egg if I have one in at this point but not before its cooled a bit or it will cook
Into a large bowl sieve the Flour, spice and bicarb altogether
When the boiled mix has cooled down a little chuck the whole lot into the bowl with the flour and mix thouroughly with a wooden spoon.Once its all mixed together shove it into the cake tin and smooth the top
put into a preheated oven for 45 minutes at gas mark 5 or 375%F after that turn the oven down a bit to Gas mark 4 or 350%F for another 30-45 minutes, checking that the top isn't getting too brown.Turn out on a baking grid to cool and this will keep as long as you don't let you OH near it.
All my family still call it accident cake, and its a good cheap cake that won't break the bank.Helps use up left over packets of dried fruit after Christmas. You know the ones that always seem to get forgotten at the back of the cupboard.I have put almost any sort of fruit in including a few well chopped up apricots once that no one seemed keen on.I have also when pushed bunged some grated carrot in to streeetch it a bit if the fruit content looked a bit thin'What the eye doesn't see the tummy won't argue about' was my motto.
It looks like a rich fruit cake,
It tastes like a rich fruit cake ,
ergo it must be a rich fruit cake;)
Well onwards and upwards.I got all my washing and ironing done and put away last night so I'm feeling quite virtuous at the moment. Skirting board is painted in the porch, and the walls await me this morning.
Eldest DD will be around for coffee this morning so I will wait until she's been before I start.
Nice and warm at the moment although a little cloudy but not too bad a day.I dug out a tiny poussion chicken from the freezer last night so I will cook it this morning .Probably just enough for a meal and a sandwich I think. It was a ys one reduced to 99p a couple of week ago so not a bad bargain (why do I always feel sorry for the tiny chickens ) weird isn't is;)
Still its food, and I shall enjoy eating it. I have a small amount of chicken stock in the freezer at the moment, so if I SC the tiny clucker I will get a bit more, then I can put two lots together and make some vegetable soup for the week.I have a few bags of odd bits of veg in the freezer to use up in the soup leeks, celery, mushrooms ect plus a couple of sad looking parsnips in the veggie drawer.Hey presto a vat of soup to do me through the week. I like making something out of what I have in store as it does save going to buy something else from the shops .14 weeks today and we're off on holiday so serious savings are going on at my house.
I hope you are all having a good weekend .Sad about the golfer wasn't it, he had such a lovely smile
Take care all

NPM Of course you know where I'm coming from when I say go to the doctors! Get yourself some breathing space and time to re-assess priorities. As for the nursing thing, I get you on that one too. Right now I feel like never returning too, problem is it's all i've ever done. I do think nurses get a pretty shoddy time of it sometimes!!! x Anyway do what is right for you and keep well :heart2:
Rainy here today but doesn't matter to me as yet more painting/DIY to get done at the new house. Carpets go in upstairs on monday so all skirting and woodwork was done yesterday we just have to hope the plaster is dry so we can paint the walls, I do not want to be painting around our new carpet
All that needs doing from then is the bathroom, finish one bedroom, start another, the living room, dining room and kitchen. It feels like we haven't done much but we have cos it's a a fair sized four bed house with high ceilings and good sized rooms. Landlord came to look yesterday before we leave and wants us to re-paint the kids bedrooms back before we leave so had a bit of a bulb about that!!! Just pure exhaustion I think
Have lovely days all and uolypool I hope your DD is feeling better and looking forward to school?

NPM Get yourself to the doc and get signed off for a while. You know you won't get thanks going into work and you have to give yourself a break somehow. I was dabbling with the idea of a return to practice course this year, but the more I hear from nursing friends, the less appealing it is. It's sad to think I will never be a nurse again, as I have never worked at anything else, but I don't have stressful nightmares now as I used to have every night when I was working. I would be at work for the whole night while I was in bed asleep! And it was always very stressful. You have enough to deal with in Noah on a daily basis. That's ridiculous that the staff don't even acknowledge your state when you get to work. Surely they, of all people should have even an idea of what you are going through. Doesn't say much for the 'caring profession'. Start thinking of yourself, not work.
For me, happy to see it was raining overnight again. It is very grey out there, but if it holds off, I will plant some beans and peas in the garden and spuds in the lottie.
Have a mountain of stuff to ebay. It will all be going on freecycle if I don't sell it, but if I can at least get a few pounds, then I may as well.
Not a clue about dinner/ lunch/ dinner for dh work tomorrow. As usual!
Have a good day all.

(he points to some plastic cows on the table) are very small; those (pointing at some cows out of the window) are far away...:D:D

Yep. I agree with others, get to Docs tomorrow morning x
Sunny start to the day here, shame as I will be chained to the laptop doing uni work all daymy own fault for being too hungover/tired to do some yesterday! Roll on the 18th when it's all handed in and I get 4 months off before year 2!
OS wise - WM been on with towels and 2nd load of clothes will go in shortly. DW will go on in a mo too. Need to clean flat and put it back to normal after my friend stayed, but uni work is the priority today.
OTher plans other than uni work - Looking forward to the F1 this afternoon, at least I can watch that and do uni work same time. Hoping to see the toyboy later too.
Have a good Sunday all
