Your not going to get the tvs at that price, they have covered themselves.
Afraid its only the courts who can decide what is deemed as a contract, normally it is when money changes hands, or CC payment taken, but ultimately its up to the courts. They do have a terms and conditions which may favour the retailor.junger wrote:I bought (Well, thought I'd bought) 10 42" LCDs today, You know--- loss-leaders on the web. HEY! Referring back to the OP's initial complaint, this is about Woolworths not knowing their left from their right.
So many people are referring to Wii's as if they are manna from heaven or leaves from trees and if you are lucky enough to get one then great and if you don't then hard luck.
It's not like that at all.
To bring a new product to the market you not only need to design it and make it, you need to have a logistics plan that deals with what comes out of the factory. You might have a preferred logistics company.
If, at the other end, you are a retailer, and wish to retail it on a certain date, you need a contract for supply and you also need a logistics plan that works.
And who is primarily responsible for the wholesale logistics bit in Europe for Nintendo? I dare to suggest it isn't Nintendo.
And who is the UK's leading distributor of entertainment products, generating an annual turnover in excess of £1.1 billion?
Originally founded in 1966, EUK has evolved into a highly sophisticated business, providing a range of services and expertise at every stage of the retail supply chain.*
(According to their own website)
And they are owned by?
Ah! The penny drops!
*I think that means that not only do they act as a supplier to retailers, and maybe even as a preferred distributing wholesaler for Nintendo(?), but they also handle home delivery to customers if the retailer so requires or so contracts!
So much for that cute throwback to the past to be found in all the old High Streets up and down the country, eh? I think if you scratch the surface, you'll find there is rather more to it thesedays.0 -
