I think the fact that we have some members on here, who have never previously posted on the other thread, shows that there was a need for a separate thread anyway.

I'm even a little wary of going back once I am actively trying to conceive. What if I get pregnant on the first month(I wish!!), or 2nd or even 6th? I want to be able to announce that without fear of a backlash.

And, the thing is, it's not even that I don't agree with all of the points that were raised. It is the way they were raised that I have issues with. Even if they wanted to raise them on the thread, fair enough, but a calmer and nicer approach would have received a much, much better response. At least on my part anyway.

  • Thanks Xaniwoop, that's really put my mind at rest. There is a hospital fairly near our house if things were to go pear shaped so to speak!

Euro (as always) I agree with what you've said. I wasn't much of an active poster on the other thread but I got very upset and felt like my feelings were being trivialised.

That was my point exactly - it was the nasty nature of the posts that really got to me and got the responses from me that they did.

Can I come post here when/if (no not if, when! PMA! :o) I get my BFP? I think I will be too scared to announce it on the other thread.

    xx

Hi and welcome to both Triangle and Xaniwoop!

You are both very welcome here and your experience, Xani, will come in very handy I'm sure :) I'm quite scared about the eventual birth! Everything else I'm ok with but giving birth scares me!

    Thanks euronorris! :)

Backgorund: I'm 27, DH is 29, been married 18 months :) Wasn't at all broody until, bizzarely, we got married and now I think about it all the time :o

I went back to uni in 2009 to gain a professional qualification needed for my career, I am almost finished. Best of all, I recently applied and was successful in getting my ideal job and start in July :j

We're in a bit of debt but manageable, now that I have a job we can make really inroads and come July, start paying huge chunks off.

The upshot of it all is we should be in the right place to start TTC in January. I'm desperate to start sooner but - when my sensible hat is on - I recognise that it makes more sense to start when the debt is much lower and I have been in post for a while. The sensible hat doesn't make it any eaiser though!

    Sorry for the essay :o

Try not to be afraid, you body is designed to do it and it can. I'm a big fan of natural birth but there are lots of ways to get through it and you'll find yours.

I found it an incredibly empowering experience - yes its really hard work but knowing you did it makes you feel great. Also the hormones that you produce when you've just given birth are out of this world, you feel like you can do anything, its the most amazing high. I can honestly say I enjoy childbirth and I really wasn't this earth-mother type before I got pregnant!

I'll post my birth stories if you like - or will that make you more nervous?
