Afternoon all, sorry I've be AWOL for a while!
Bf and I are officially TTC now :-) I have done one month without the pill and had a 'normal' cycle so now we are using ovulation sticks to make sure we catch the best days but obviously we're not limiting ourselves ;-)
Hope everyone is well :-)************************************

Yes, although we're not trying until we buy a house, that's all up in the air at the moment so not sure when it's going to finally happen.
For those coming off the pill, have patienceI just came off the pill recently but I'm not expecting a normal period any time soon because the last time I came off it it took 5 months for my periods to come back.

No Im not in Scotland.
I wonder why I was told this today then? Bit strange that the people writing the prescription would say it if it wasn't true?
Looking into the maternity exemption certificate information, once your pregnancy has been certified by a doctor or midwife, or any time during the twelve months following the birth of your baby you can apply for the certificate and it is dated start from the date one month before the date on which we get your application, to twelve months after the expected date of the baby's birth.
This means the prescription would then be free as then exempt from paying, meaning no cost for the folic acid
Here is where I got this information from: http://www.nhsbsa.nhs.uk/1644.aspx
Lots of different information everywhere though :rotfl:
It depends on area - some don't offer the maternity exemption forms until you are after 12 weeks, other places will organsise it sooner. It doesn't happen as soon as go and see a GP anyway. I was 9 weeks when I got one this time around. Got it back by about 12 weeks - folic acid would have been a bit redundant then!
I am on pregnancy no. 5 and have never had folic acid prescribed. They cost less than £1 a bottle. Probably best just to pick up a few from Tesco or whatever on one of their 3for2 offers.14th October 201020th October 20113rd December 20130 -

Hi Think Pink,
I know, I keep wanting to post just to talk about where I'm at in my ttc journey... but it's so quiet I almost wonder if anyone would reply before the thread gets "lost" again.
Sounds like our timelines are exactly the same. I'd start next month if I let all reasoning go out the window, but really our ttc date is December too. What are your deciding factors? Some times you have to hold back to go forward to where you want to be.

My patience is wearing thin now! It's been two months and still no sign. It's starting to get frustrating as I feel like everything has been put on pause, it doesn't even feel like we're trying at the momentI have a feeling I'll struggle with this TTC thing, I hate not being in control and I'm not very patient!

Oh please chat away, Im usually here and will chat (I am an extremely chatty person!!:rotfl:).
There isnt really any deciding factors, its just me over thinking things more than anything! Today Im feeling that I will come off my pill next month and just see how things go, but Ive been on it for 12 years and find the idea of coming off it a little bit scary!! Im worried it will take me a while to get back to being regular so would rather come of it sooner rather than later! (havent come off it yet though as Im going on holiday in a few weeks and dont want to be on then!!)
Laurabllue- sending you a hug, I think this is how Im going to be feeling very soon.0 -
Can I join the 'December is sensible but want to do it now!' gang please!!??
Realistically we have to wait until October after holiday and then i'll come off the pill so probably take 2-3 months to get body 'ready' and then it will be xmas!
The waiting has not been made easier by someone annoucing in work today and someone in hubbys work getting everything given to them on a plate! Makes being sensible seem pointless, grrr, rant over!0
