And another lb gone
Slowly but surely, I'm getting healthy
BabyMad, I agree, there are some moments in life when having a baby is just not the responsible thing to do. Sometimes, waiting is the best thing we can do. But I know that many of us think that maybe we should wait for the perfect time. But this time will never come. Because there is always something that could be perfected
Of course you'll always find people who just foolishly have children and then do not take any responsibility for them. But they're not always down at the benefit office: I used to teach in a boarding school, and although the parents were always nice and lovely to me, I can tell you that some of them seriously neglect their children. Not in the same way as we're used to read in the media (ie, they have food, clothes, etc). But some of these poor children are unloved by their parents and can feel it. It's awful to witness that
Anyway, I hope you have a lovely wedding (how romantic, an autumn wedding) and that your BFP comes very quickly
You seem to me like you're very organised, much more than me!!! :rotfl:

Afternoon ladies
Interesting reading some of your viewpoints on mothers working etc. As the main earner in our household I'm going to have to continue working, but hope to drop down to a 4 day week rather than a 5 day week. In an ideal world I'd like to maybe reduce down to a 3 day week but we just can't afford to unfortunately, going down to a 4 day week is still going to stretch our finances a little as it is.
Don't know whats up with me this week, I'm just feeling sickly and tired all the time and don't really have an appetite, everyone at work seems to be loaded with colds so I'm thinking maybe I've got a bug or something, just wish it would pass!!New House... Afternoon all
I hope that when we finally have a baby, that'd we be in a position that I'll be able to work part time, maybe 2/3 days a week. At the moment, we earn about the same, although the jobs I'm looking at and applying for will mean I earn more (if I ever get one lol), although not by much. It will also depend on what our mortgage payment will be like at the time (again, if we are ever able to afford our own house). With all the hassle I've gone through this year with jobs, we have pretty much figured we can get by on just my DHs wages, but it's a struggle and I certainly wouldn't want to raise a family on just his wages at the moment. But once we pay of our debts and have some savings behind us, I'm pretty sure we'd manage alright.
Chocoholic_chock, hope you feel better soon!0 -
Choc_chic - I hope you feel better soon! I can sympathise because I've felt miserable all week too, thankfully not feeling sicky but I've had a headache off and on since Saturday
As far as work after a baby arrives goes, although we could make ends meet on my partner's wages alone, I probably will try to work at least part time. I don't like the idea of being totally dependant on anyone so would like to have some income of my own and also don't think I'd cope particularly well without the adult interaction and intellectual stimulation that comes with work. That's what I think now anyway - who knows how I'll feel when the time actually comes!Common sense?...There's nothing common about sense!0 -

Hi optimistic_mummy - I'm pretty good thank you! I feel a bit odd now that I'm off hormonal contraceptives for the first time in my adult life and I'm not quite sure what to expect. I'm having a pretty relaxed weekend though which is really nice.
I've had a really eventful 2012 and it feels odd to think of the year as almost being over...especially knowing that before the end of the year I'll have started a new job and moved to a whole new area (again!) and that it will be the area where we plan to settle and have a family. I'm excited and stressed all at once! lol
sammy - I bet the next couple of months will absolutely fly by for you! It's so exciting every time someone 'graduates' from this thread. I do hope that once you've moved on you'll come back to keep us posted with your progress.Common sense?...There's nothing common about sense!0 -
Hi optimistic-mummy
I'm fine too, thanks
Pretty busy now that husband is back because... we've exchanged on our house :j So it's packing, packing, packing, with a few hours in central Bristol to get husband some new clothes for work (he wears casual so we went to Prim*rk).
How are you?0 -
Ellie -I hope the move is going (or has gone) well! It's such an exciting and stressful thing.
I'm muddling along at work waiting for a start date for my new job and also waiting to see what my body does now that it's not filled with artificial hormones. It took over a week but the withdrawal headache has finally gone away so I feel almost normal. Quite pleased that I haven't come out in spots yet, fingers are crossed that I won't! Also waiting to see if I return to a normal cycle or not....so much waiting!Common sense?...There's nothing common about sense!0 -
Hi Bazzi! Fingers crossed that your body go back to "normal" quickly
Why would you get spots though? Is it a side effect of "withdrawal" from hormonal contraception?
We have not moved yet, we only complete at the end of the week and then we have to wait a little longer before moving as I have an important deadline on October 15th (we have an overlap with our rental property, thank God). But it's very stressful because I can't see an end to the packing!! :eek:0
