Good morning and happy Friday ladies!
Is everyone else as glad as I am that it's Friday before a long weekend? We're off to visit some friends and family this weekend which should be nice, but as usual not a cure for broodiness because they have little ones ranging from a couple of weeks old up to about 18 months. Still, I'm looking forward to it and I'm thinking that the car ride home might be a good opportunity to have a chat with my partner about when it'll be our turn!
trina - I hope you've managed to get an appointment and that it fits in with the schedule you had set for yourself. The NHS can be brilliant but isn't my favourite organisation at the moment because i've seen them get things quite wrong on a couple of occasions recently!Common sense?...There's nothing common about sense!0 -
Morning all
Another one looking forward to the long weekend, I've actually got a few days booked off next week as well so we're off to visit some friends who moved away from our area earlier this year so really looking forward to having a few nights away, even if it is forecast to pee it down the whole time
Tried chatting to OH this morning about when to come off the pill but got met with silence ( I have 2 packs left so was thinking about whether to go back and renew for another 6 months or come off them once they're gone ). Feel like we're having communication problems at the moment so hoping to have time to talk properly while we're away. I think the time away will do us both good as we've both been a little stressed out with work lately.New House... New Mortgage! February 2017: £144,000

Morning All!
Very glad it's Friday here too! Cannot wait for a lie in tomorrow! We're also going to do some clothes shopping (well I am), and then go and watch Expendables 2 at the cinema
I don't have Monday off, as it isn't a bank holiday here, but I have booked Tuesday off for OH's Birthday. But shhh, it's a surprise that I am going to tell him about only on Monday evening! Hehehehehe

Oh, and talking of cute babies. My Mum posted a pic on FB last night, of my youngest neice completely conked out on the living room floor. It's almost as if she was trying to crawl, found it too exhausting and passed out! lolFebruary wins: Theatre tickets0

Hello ladies. May I join you?
I have not read the whole thread, only the last few pages.
My husband and I are in the process of buying our first house, he started a new job a few months ago with good career prospects (unlike the others before that). We're both in our late 20s and... Well, you can guess where I'm going
In our couple, I'm the one who chickens out every time we're thinking of TTC. My main reason is that I want to get healthy. I have lost one stone already, and ideally would like to lose another stone and a half to get a BMI of 23 or around. I saw the 30-day Shred mentioned: I finished it a week ago and may start it again (with swimming) as I am really wanting to tone up my core muscles
My husband is totally ready, it's me who always have something I want to do before we TTC. I sometimes wonder if there is an underlying issue somewhere... But then again, I always worry about something (money, time, will I be able to find work after we've had a baby, etc). My mother keeps telling me that there is no perfect time to have a baby, but I can't help but think she is slightly biased as I know she loves the idea of having grandchildren
Anyway, off I go reading more of your stories0 -
I'm driving my dad up to London on Sunday to see his mum / brothers and hoping to actually spend some time with DH on Monday (both so busy with work we're like ships that fly in the night at times!)
Nothing planned for tomorrow as DH is working. Boooo! I won't even be able to lie in as I have a stupid cold that is keeping me awake.Don't worry about typing out my username - Call me COMP(Unless you know my real name - in which case, feel free to use that just to confuse people!)0 -
Colds suck!
My sore throat felt better this morning, but by the time I reached the office, it was sore again. I'm wondering if mine is actually a reaction to the paint at work (they've been painting some walls and doorframes this week).
Welcome Ellie! Having kids is a life changing event, it's only natural to be nervous. Why don't you try writing down your fears, and then try writing solutions to them and see if that makes it any easier?February wins: Theatre tickets0 -

I would not be surprised! When they painted the corridor outside my tiny little office, I had nose bleed and a very sore throat for days: not great when you are conducting recorded GCSE orals! It made me realise that if we can finally move into our new house, I will be saving a bit harder and get paint without any VOCs in them.

Yes, you're right, I should write them down, but it may take several pages.I am jobless at the moment due to relocation, and I have a part-time PhD to finish. All this worries me, but somehow, below all my worries, I have the gut feeling that I am ready and that my husband will make a fantastic dad. I need a list :rotfl:

Ellie - welcome! I think your mum is right and there is no 'perfect' time to have a baby but even so you shouldn't rush in before you feel ready.
comp - I hope you feel better soon!
euro - I get photo messages every other day from a friend who had be baby girl 4 weeks ago. She's adorable and I'm effectively 'aunty' to her because my friend doesn't have any female relatives so I'm enjoying spoiling her, but I do ache a bit every time I see a new gorgeous photo.Common sense?...There's nothing common about sense!0
