Morning all - happy Friday!
I'm so pleased for the long weekend, although I should confess that we had one last week as well due to Eid. We are at a friend's birthday do this afternoon (which consists of a chilled afternoon in the sun with lots of food and drink) and then we're planning to do a day safari to the national park on Sunday. Hoping we'll see some rhino and lion. I may bore you all with some pics if I get any good ones.
Other than that I need to get some reading done for my next uni course which starts in a month. I got the results for last year and I am so chuffed - the nine month slog paid off!
COMP/Euro - I hope your colds/sore throats go away very quickly!
Welcome Ellie! I may pick your brains about the 30 day shred (like is it normal to take two goes to get up from the bed in the morning after going overboard on the squats....:rotfl:)"No society can surely be flourishing and happy of which by far the greater part of the numbers are poor and miserable"Adam Smith6/300 -

Oh I'm not the rushing type at allGiven the time I took to choose a house, I'm not likely to rush into creating and being responsible for another human being

Yep, perfectly normal and it means it's workingI swear, when I started Level 2, it was so hard to sit down on the loo seat, I almost cried
But this Shred has been a god-sent to me. It has reduced my anxiety a lot, and the weightloss helps of course. Which Level are you at? I really struggled with Level 2, but Level 3 was surprisingly easy.

Oh yeah, Ellie, I also did the 30 Day Shred. I changed my diet too, and lost most of the excess lbs. Am now doing her 90 Day Body Revolution to get rid of the last bits and continue toning up and increasing strength. Shred helped so much with my core muscles, which has helped massively with backache!
Kalama - yes! Yes it is! lol I did day 1 of 90 Day body revolution on Tuesday, and spent most of Monday groaning, and moving slowly everytime I had to get up from my chair! hahaha
ETA: Ellie - I found the same with Level 3. It seemed easier. But I don't think I would've felt that way if I had gone straight from Level 1 to Level 3. I think Level 2 prepares your body for Level 3.February wins: Theatre tickets0 -

It's gonna sound weird but I actually love the painLike I have done something with my day, if you see what I mean?
And yes, it's done wonders to my core muscles. My back pains are almost gone and I realised that it's because I am not using my abs far more often. It's amazing what squeezing your abs can do to help your back.
I'm gonna google these exercise programmes! I am determine to be fit before getting pregnant, if only to help during the pregnancy (and maybe during labour as well, although I have no clue if anything would help :rotfl: )0 -

My mum tells me it's a massive help and I'm determined that as and when I get my BFP I'm continuing with the exercise I'm doing now (although I may not cycle on the busier roads)
Don't worry about typing out my username - Call me COMP(Unless you know my real name - in which case, feel free to use that just to confuse people!)0 -
I feel the same way. I love it and hate it at the same time. It's a sign of a good workout!February wins: Theatre tickets0

Sorry, what is a BFP?Good to know good core muscles help with the pain, because I have to admit the pain scares me a little. And not just the pain during labour. I have seen my cousin go through horrible back pains during her 2 pregnancies

Yeah, I hate Jillian during the work out, but then at the end, ah, I feel like, I don't know, an olympic medallistAnd when I finally managed to button up THAT pair of jeans that have been too small for years... Wow, I felt like I was on top of the world :rotfl:

BFP = Big Fat Positive
Ohhh, back labour. I finally had a chance to ask my colleague how her labour went back in March - not good, thanks to a back labour also, and her baby boy wasn't breathing and not responding to CPR at first. Thankfully, they managed to get him breathing etc, and all is well now, but she seriously thinks that she will not be having anymore because she found the whole thing too traumatic.
But, just to add, most labours are not like that!February wins: Theatre tickets0 -

ThanksI first thought it may mean Birth Plan or something, hence why I thought your mum said core muscles help with the pain
But if exercising helps with a BFP, then it's even better
I have been diagnosed with mild PCOS (after a horrible internal scan *shudder*). My periods are fairly regular but after reading the "side effects" of PCOS on ladies who manage to get pregnant... Well, let's say it helped me get over my aversion for exercising (and now I love it, how ironic
)

The pain...If I ever get pregnant, they better let me have the option of having a epidural, should I want it. A friend of mine had to battle to be given one
I'd be ready to pay!!!!!! But I want the option or I KNOW I will panic.
