Hey COMP,
Thinking of you and hoping you're having a better day today!

Hi girls.... just a little post from a lurker (and soon to be full graduate of these threads touch wood)
These conversations with OHs are always difficult and even when you have had them my OH still denied that it was a proper discussion. Like Euro's OH whenever we discussed things later, earlier conversations were put down to 'not being set in stone' or I wasn't concentrating etc
In the end bump was conceived about 3 weeks before we thought we'd 'tried properly' for the first time (I even had a 'period' between) - he still sometimes says that he didn't even know we were trying with bump (not sure what he thought might happen if you don't use protection and I was off the pill - it seems in the end my 'coming off pill' cycles weren't quite what I thought) - he stopped saying this when I told him how much it upset me...
Like all relationship decisions I think that the key is to be as honest as you can be with each other especially about your gut feelings - its really tough being in a partnership and emotions do run high... got upset yesterday when OH 'realised' for the first time that my income is going to drop substantially - if its any consolation COMP and everyone else here its never an easy path but the bond between you both will be amazing when that magical event happens
lots of love and remember that these forums are a fantastic way of 'letting off steam' and figuring out what you want to say to OH in private
good luck to all xxteam yellow

COMP I feel your pain, I got pregnant 'accidentally' with DD1 - in fairness I was still taking my pill most of the time, but was so broody that when I forgot to take it for 48 hours I did nothing - I thought that I had 'got away with it' when my period arrived. However I was gutted. Then 29 weeks, and 6 periods later, and lots of tests, they thought I might be seriously ill etc it was revealed I was pregnant after all.
I was thrilled, OH absolutely gutted. I WOULDN'T recommend it, we very nearly split up over it. Last 11 weeks of pregnancy he was so unhappy. I thought that with a baby on the way he would come round, he didn't until she was about 6 months old. He was even arguing with me whilst I was in labour. Refused to come to antenatal etc.
With DD2 it was so much better as we both wanted a baby.OPs so far £42,139

I'd never go ahead and 'try' without him - there's no way I could hide the fact that I've had the implant out. The scar would give me away...!
DH & I both had the day off yesterday and babies were only mentioned by my gran (of all people). We had a new bed delivered yesterday and my gran said "why have you got a new bed? Have you worn out the old one? You've only been married two months! Mind you, you know what they say - new bed, new baby".
DH mentioned to his parents yesterday that he's thinking of turning our spare bedroom into a gym. The one that we painted a nice nursery neutral yellow earlier this year...Don't worry about typing out my username - Call me COMP(Unless you know my real name - in which case, feel free to use that just to confuse people!)0 -
Hey everyone I have missed so much. The wedding last Friday was fantastic and I now have a few days before honeymoon.
I have missed so much on here!! COMP I am so so sorryMaybe when it all calms down and if they aren't under pressure they will change their minds...it is very unsettling though.
I hope you are doing as well as you can and just keep your chin up.
Hope everyone is well x xDebt Free Wannabe by 1 January 2016

I understand, neither would I. I don't want to be creating a child with someone who doesn't want to.
Redecorating one of the rooms should be a joint decision, no? So I would just refuse to agree to it. Even by his delayed timescale, it's a bit silly to redecorate the room, if you'll only have to redecorate it again within a year or so.February wins: Theatre tickets0 -
