    afternoon all :)
started my last-but-one packet of pills at the weekend, told DH and he started to look a bit panicky :rotfl:

I'm getting a bit apprehensive about stopping them too though tbh, although by the time I stop it will be "safe to proceed" (as DH keeps saying ) with respect to my work maternity leave entitlement we're not planning to start trying until march next year. I've got a whole list of questions running through my head - what if we get pregnant early by mistake (actually not a major trauma, once I've qualified for the enhanced maternity pay, but I don't think DH is quite ready), what if it takes a year for my periods to restart as GP said it might, what if i get terrible periods (been on the pill since 16, can't remember what they were like!), what if I'm a hormonal monster?! eek! tried discussing it with DH and he said "you could just stay on the pill if you're that worried" that's not going to make us a baby next year is it?! *sigh*

Your periods may or may not take time to settle down. Mine have been fine (despite being put on the pill at 13 for very irregular periods), but others have taken months. You won't know until you do it, so try not to stress out about it.

Same goes for the terrible periods. Mine were awful at 13. They aren't great now, but nowhere near as bad as back then.

Hormonal monster....I'm still working on that! :rotfl::rotfl:

It's the spots I'm hating! !!!!!!! things breakout more often now. And there is currently a big one of my back. I think I might be growing a second head!:eek::eek:

also, since I've had no periods for 3 years, I'd forgotten how much I hated tampons/towels etc. I'm considering a mooncup. does anyone here use one? any advice/recommendations?

I've been meaning to get one and try it myself. Little apprehensive though.

There are users on the forum who do use it though, so might be worth starting a thread about it. I remember finding out about it through one of them, and asking them some questions about it.

weirdly I've had more spots in my twenties than I ever had as a teenager, I can only remember about 4/5 times when I had any spots at all until I was about 22!

Euronorris - my original date was May/June next year as I wanted to have a summer materinity but OH said xmas as we both want me to have six months off minimum(breastfeeding) and he said maternity would then fall over the following xmas (if we're lucky enough); thus he gets more time off with me other than paternity leave. Plus I have been super keen on saving money so that is going better than first thought - loving Farmfoods and Aldi!
This is what frustrates me with MEN, they blow so hot and cold and they don't even get AF!!!!!

I have no idea why I remember this (my brain remembers all kinds of weird cr*p!:o)but I think Sexymouse on the TTC thread uses a mooncup - she might be able to give you some advice/recommendations.

    Ahh, I see.

Yep. Men do blow hot and cold, and they expect us to read their minds at times too. But, of course, they don't really do that, it's just us women who do. *rolls eyes*

*Delurks for a minute* been hiding out here a little while. I've got a 1yr old and we're waiting to see how finances look around xmas/new year before trying for #2.

Mooncups - do it! I got one about 3 months ago because I found tampons leaked after having stitches which ruptured after the birth of my baby. Much more comfortable than tampons and I haven't looked back. One thing is that I have very heavy periods and leak after a couple of hours the first couple of days . Nothing a pad won't deal with though and I'm looking into cloth for that for the comfort factor (already a cloth nappy user). Definitely worth a try I'd say

    Thanks Esio, and welcome!

I think I might invest in a mooncup today, so it arrives before next AF.
