Hmm, I had £1.00 in it (from the cheque they asked for when signing up), the error from PayPal was, if I remember correctly, that your bank is not capable of accepting any Direct Debits (which it can according to CitiBank). I closed all my other current accounts and can't use CC or Debit Card as PayPal say I've gone over some limit in transactions and now must verify my account with bank funding (problably their attempt to tackle CC fraud).
oh, it would seem to me that it could be abit of both, as my house insurrance couldn't go out last month so they are taking 2 payments this month, although I haven't had any trouble with any other DD's or SO's, I wonder if citi, have something on our accounts that provents things going out for a while,

Even though I have this problem with PayPal, CitiBank are great. Fast and detailed replies in their online banking messaging system and saves me a lot of fees to deposit US dollar cheques into the US dollar current account (prepaid envelopes available too!)

OMG your a satisfied customer then, there doesn't seem to many of them around, nowadays, pleased to hear that citi are finally getting something right, I personally love citi, but alot of people are far from happy with them, mainly because they are getting declined.
    3 cheers for citi

  • I applied yesterday for a CITI account after reading the success rate on here. I noticed on their site they state that the access account is a basic account.

The sterling account has been chaned to a plus account.

Which one is the best to apply for to get accepted?

    the access account.
    they are both current accounts,
only one you have to pay for the other you dont
you get an OD with both
you get a visa card with both
the only difference is with the plus account you are guaranteed a cheque guarantee card and cheque book
I think what you or anyone else needs to do is sit down and ask yourselves what do I want from this account, then go for which ever suits you best.
