I printed my App form off online once I had finished it, wrote a cheque for £1 and included my BT phonebill, that got the account opened.
  • Yeah :(

What are people going to do? I've got an appointment with a personal banker at one of the branches in London next weekend (don't want to send off documentation, as we're currently applying for a mortgage and need to keep stuff!)

Feeling a bit  about it all....... :(

    IW x

I'm have a think about whether I will stay with the Citibank Plus or change to the new Access account they are offering (which doesn't have any charges).

How far will you have to travel for your appointment? They are very prompt at returning ID - mine was back within a week ...

I will change to the access account as long as I get to keep my debit card. I certainly can't afford £10 a month!

Its stated in their site that your card and pin will remain the same if you shift to the access account. The account number will also be the same and the transfer will not have any effect on your direct debits.
Unless you want the extra things (for £10/month) which they are offering with the current account I think its best to shift to the access account.
There is no need to transfer the account yet as the £10 a month will be charged from April. So till April you can enjoy the current account with out any extra cost.

  • I have a real bad feeling now i have seen that!
I would not be amused if i am the first person on here to be turned down for an account!

Now not sure what account they are going to open for me anyway (if one at all)......

Oh, i should have done this a month ago, the same as everyone else!

I've just read about these new accounts, it says on the basic one no guarantee card but on the £10 a month one the guarantee card limit depends on status, does this mean any of us having this account will get a guarantee card, just with different limits?

I think only certain people are getting cheque quarantee cards pending on there credit state, I never got a cheque card. But I am happy with what I got

  • its just a thought but does anyone really need a cheque book with guarantee card these days I got the 3 in 1 so ordered a cheque book but I doult very much that I will actually need it, it seems that lots are getting 2 in 1 and lots are getting 3 in 1, I dont think this reflects on credit, I think its that some ordered before a certain time limit, I got accepted at the beginning of january, probably before the person who dealt with my claim knew that there accounts were going to change. and could the change in these accounts reflect that an unusually large amount of people were going to take advantage of this offer and thats why they have suddenly changed it, so as to not lose out on so much money themselves.
