This is obviously an insurance scam by you.

You're looking to claim on your mobile phone insurance etc.

Nice try, but you've been rumbled.

Or else it was your friend...yeah that's it.

Or maybe it was the fairies??

New look or primark staff are bag theives everyone..

We know this because the OP has declared that no one else must have stolen it apart from the staff .. Backed up with absolutely no proof what so ever.

funny how when people dont look after their stuff in shops and it gets stolen they always wanna blame the staff.

happened to a girl in a burger bar recently, she stupidly flung it over the back of her chair where it got nabbed. I felt SOOOOOOOO sorry 4 her until she openly accused our table because it was 'facing us'.

    Take responsibility for ur stupidity.

I had my bag stolen from a busy pub many years ago and nobody saw anything. I was absolutely frantic because it contained money, rail pass, glasses, keys, etc., I was asking everybody near by if they'd seen anything and they all pleaded innocence. This happened in the West End & the pub was packed with shoppers (Christmas time). I learnt from the police that thieves target pubs, restaurants & shops where people are pre-occupied & their guard is down. It appears they go into these places with large carrier bags etc and wait for some dimwit to put their bag down for a second, they take the bag and place it into their bag & eventually walk out with your bag hidden. It's so very easy because and it only takes a split second. I learnt my lesson the hard way & I've been extra vigilant ever since. Never leave your bag/laptop/anything important unattended.

We were in Next in Woking the other day, male suspected bag thief came and was checking out my wife's bag, when he saw she'd spotted him, he slunk away.

Very easy for them if you're not watching, put your bag down when trying on some shoes, wait for your companion to distract you and then wham it's gone. No reason to suppose staff would do it when there's plenty of thieves out there otherwise.

    Oh my god...how petty.

The OP was unfortunate enough to have her bag nicked, and for that she deserves sympathy. Why are people concentrating on one suggestion of who it might have been? It could be a bit dodgy, but that's not the point of the thread. She's actually trying to warn people to be careful, and to be fair the store should be praised for bothering to ring her back.

She speculated that it may have been a staff member = hissy fits. Jeeze, grow up.

Handbags should be named mini-skips when you consider what they normally contain.

OP I'm sorry for your theft, unfortunately it happens all the time in Oxford Street. From my experience working there once, the staff are too busy to bother stealing from customers,

It happened to a friend of mine and me a few years ago... we were in a very popular bar in Covent Garden celebrating the end of my exams... at about 11pm we realised that her bag had been nicked, so the stumbled over to the police station to report it. Then went back to the bar to have a last drink... only to find the bag sitting unmolested on the windowsill where we left it...

As for OP - sorry to hear about your bag. It is irrationally devastating when it happens to you.
    Man plans and God laughs...
Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.

Years ago I had my bag stolen from a pub, there was a crowd of us stood (not dancing) around our handbags that were under our coats. Despite there being several of us standing around 2 of us had our bags taken literally from under our noses.
Both were found the next day in bins by the street cleaner. Not in London, it does actually happen everywhere.
Experienced bag thieves are probably watching you for ages, they can see that you're distracted & are just waiting for their opportunity to grab & run.
Over body bags are best if you're going shopping at least then you don't have to take them off unless trying on clothes.
