Bag stolen in store on Oxford Street

It's a huge problem in major retail areas, especially the west end.
The thieves are very good at what they do, and know exactly where cameras and security are. They work in teams and you very rarely see anything.
You really do have to be amazingly careful with your property0 -

^^^ This means you could never be gay in a million years. Unless 'multi-tool' is what they're calling manicure sets these days. :rotfl:"Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0 -

Sorry to hear of your bag being pinched, but there are gangs of thieves all over the WE/soho etc. They specifically target the area as it's popular with tourists. Locals tend to have bags/wallets/valuables glued to their person at all times. I know from when I used to work in the area that most shoe shops have signs asking people to watch out for pickpockets and to keep belongings on them at all times.
As for whether it could be the staff... possibly. But as you have no proof it could just as easily been your friend or a pickpocket.Foreign politicians often zing stereotypical tunes, mayday, mayday, Venezuela, neck

The OH's got one! He calls it his 'come in handy tool'. I can't quite think of a single instance where it's ever come in handy for anything but Be Prepared! Quite frankly, if it doesn't have a corkscrew I'm not interested."Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0 -
Hmmm. I'm female. I have never owned a handbag- they're not terribly practical. Keeping all your valuables in one nice shiny bright place? May as well attach neon lights to my car keys.
If it doesn't fit in my wallet, pocket, or car, it probably won't come out.
I do have a Leatherman knife though.Very useful in my toolbox.
Used to live in London- around Oxford/Tottenham Court Road is a hotbed for crime. I used to work on TCR, and the amount of thefts reported from other shops- bags constantly stolen....0 -
OP is being a drama llama,ok warn people BUT then to go accusing the staff is bang out of order,
most people that nick bags rifle them before leaving the store(takes seconds) as the doorway is nearly always covered by CCTV,
likewise in pubs/clubs etc they lift the bag and rifle it in the bogsIMOJACAR

Mine has a little corkscrew and a tiny torch on it.The truth may be out there, but the lies are inside your head. Terry Pratchett

Lol I love that!
Oh I'm female and I only ever wear a handbag when I go on a city holiday to store the maps and other stuff. I hate them.0 -
Travelcard with emergency £20 and loose change in front right jeans pocket.
Cheap travelcard holder with bank card and main cash in front left jeans pocket.
Phone and keys in inside top pocket.
Never putting your stuff down for even a second unless you are physically standing on the thing.
Not having a handbag of any description.
Never wandering aimlessly down the road with your mouth open and permanently looking up, obviously gawping at the big purty city lights. May as well scream 'victim! victim!'
It's called living in London.I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll0
