I asked iCardMobile Customer Service about this through the messaging service at their website. They replied within about half hour:

    Dear ...... ....,
Thank you for your enquiry. We would like to inform you that currently the call connection charge (All calls over 2 minutes are subject to a 3 minute connection charge) is applicable only while making international calls and currently it is not applicable for calls made to UK mobile and landline.
Please do not hesitate to contact the team if you require any further assistance.
    Kind regards
    iCard Mobile Team

But as Stuart_W requested, confirmation from any iCardmobile customers would be nice.

BTW. I simply do not understand why companies like iCardmobile charge 6p per minute for calling within the UK when they are charging only 0.5p to far away places like India and China

Stuart_W "Are any icard customers able to confirm what they have been charged for UK calls to confirm that customer services are correct that the connection fee is only being applied to international calls?"

I can confirm that you only get charged 6p per min (not per seconds) for UK mobile calls and that you do not get charged a connection fee.

I took the plunge and joined iCardmobile. Everything went smoothly including number porting. Phoned Orange for PAC that they gave me over the phone and by SMS within a few seconds. Then iCard did the porting in about 14 hours. For topping up, I had to go to another site, register with them and pay.

Low as it is compared to others, its bizzare that I would paying 6p per minute when calling mobile number couple of miles from me but pay only 3p per minute, if i were to call destinations over 5,000 miles away such as India, Pakistan or China

I have been using iCardmobile for three months now. No worries unlike the big players and the problems they cause.
  • Does anyone know how to find a number that called you and left you a message in voicemail? Because I really don't know how to find out :(

I noticed this after my credit ran out.
Are they not supposed to email you when there are changes to the rates?

Could well be a Ofcom breach there if not a legal issue.

Their T&Cc state it is free to receive a text message whilst in the UK, but do also state that changes to charging can occur at any time (no notice required)

To increase prices without notice would surely contravene the unfair contracts legislation or pricing regulations (and possibly both).
