I guess you- have got a new iCard sim,
- got the PAC from Orange ('old simcard'),
- gave the PAC to iCard,
- then something went wrong on the day they selected for porting, so that the old sim stopped working but the number has not moved to the new sim.

I have a PAYG account with Orange and pay 12p per minute. And they charge me 25p for calling their Technical Support :-(
Does iCardmobile make any charges for calling them?!0 -
No charge to call Customer Services from your handset http://icardmobile.co.uk/contact.php
Free voicemail as well.0 -
current rates for UK
UK Landline 3p
Mobile 6p
SMS 5p
landline rate has gone up but still cheaper than others that I know. of.
No frills other than £2 credit for registering for your online account.0 -
... also worth pointing out a couple of further increases according to the website
- calls over 2 minutes have a 3 minute connection fee.
So, at 3p per minute for landlines, a 3 minute call will cost 9p + 9p connection (18p). At 6p per minute for mobiles, a 3 minute call will cost 36p.
- sending an SMS to a UK landline costs 10p not 5p
None of the other value PAYG providers differentiate between SMS to landlines and mobiles costs AFAIK.
This means that icard mobile is actually only cheaper for UK calls to landlines and mobile calls that are under 2 minutes or over 9 minutes.
UK Mobile calls that are between 2 and 9 minutes long are cheaper on any of the 8p/min value PAYG options (TescoLite, TalkMobile Essentials, FamilyMobile). These deals also offer texts for 4p
icard remains extremely good value, but not quite as simple as a straight 3p landline, 6p mobile rate anymore. It remains the cheapest option for free same network calls as unlike all others, it does not require a regular top up - just a credit balance of at least 10p to make as many free under 10 minute calls as you like.0 -
Thanks Stuart_W for pointing that out.
So for calls between 2 and 9 minutes, iCardmobile is more expensive than others like Lebara-mobile and VectoneMobile who charge 10p per minute.
Also, Lebara-mobile and VectoneMobile give top up credits and switch bonuses; making the per minute charge lower0 -
The connection fee is only for International calls. UK calls are flat rates. Doesn't show up at the bottom of the rates page like the international ones do and double-checked with customer service0

Thanks for that, golfgavin2.
Are any icard customers able to confirm what they have been charged for UK calls to confirm that customer services are correct that the connection fee is only being applied to international calls?0
