Post my ebay Id on an open forum :) Do us a favour post yours and I'll promise not to buy any of your tat

On a serious note one of the pinks on the powerseller board a few months ago said that note was being taken of buyers that abused the star system and if this became a problem then it would be dealt with.

Now I accept that we often get told things by the pinks just to shut us up but if you seriously misunderstand the system to that extent then you may well appear on the radar at some point.

Sellers, as well as blocking malicious bidders I wonder if it is now actually worth going to the trouble of reporting them as well. I know the guidelines say we mustn't contact buyers about the stars, but it says nothing about reporting malicious bidders to ebay, and there is a complaint category that allows us to do that.

Can you see each individual buyers stars? I usually leave 1's if somethings a a day or so late.

Are you serious ? Do you have any idea how much damage you are doing to the sellers ? A few low stars and they can be suspended from Ebay and possibly lose their livelihood.

Yet another reason why Ebay should get rid of this stupid rating system. Buyers like this one.
You're only young once, but you can be immature forever :D

But why? eBay doesnt tell you who left them when or why.. or even for what item! sure you can do reports but even when / if you find out who is it what are you going to do? you not meant to know so you cant do anything about it.

Most small businesses on eBay are so concerned about feedback and DSR's that the forget neglect the important bits like sourcing good stock, communicating with potential buyers and marketing and most importantly... enjoying themselves and what they do.

All you can do is provide the best products and service possible, if people decide to give 1- 2 * its up to them... no pleasing some people.

This is how I look at things and I have been a TRS since it started.

Damn right! I spend my time making sure my buyers get the best quality products, on time at an unbeatable price. Not hunting though reports trying to figure out who left a low star somewhere (they never have.... Wonder why?) .

I agree that if the buyer was unhappy, especially as you say they were 100% correct in their grievance, that it is dead right you only got low stars on the transaction. You can't do a crap job then expect 5 stars even if you refund them and they're otherwise happy as you made the !!!! up in the first place.

I said 100% genuine, not 100% correct. The problem is that they made assumptions, based on something that was not specified. The listing did not say they would or would not meet their specific requirements, and they knew they may not be what they wanted.
They were genuine because I believe they were honest, but for example shortly after I got feedback from the second person who bought the same item and they were over the moon...

To answer another post, I have a no quibble return policy.

I don't block to punish anyone, but to protect my 100% fb and 4.9 stars, from people who don't know what stars mean to a seller, and could unwittingly cause a lot of damage.
My buyers are lovely people, they send lovely messages thanking me for selling something they can't find anywhere else.

If they sent things on time they wouldn't get low stars, it's hardly rocket science, jeez.

    Hi, first ever post yeah!!!

I would just like to say I got dinged on my p&p when RM put the prices up as I overcharged by 1p!!!!!!! but left glowing feedback!
yes I know who exactly leaves what mark however not until 24 hours after feedback is left, I think most buyers check when really annoyed;) but I probably go too far by checking everyone:o

    Hello:wave: Welcome
If you download your performance report, it tells you what category, area you posted to, date & price range, so it's often quite easy to see who left low stars even if you don't check daily.
You aren't allowed to question anyone about it, ebay policy, but it doesn't say that you can't block them from buying in the future.
So people who think that they can just leave bad stars with no come back on them are rather foolish.

I've just noticed that the person who left me low * is no longer registered, hopefully she left low for several sellers & was reported & got thrown off.

To be honest, I wouldn't use a seller again if they were poor the first time.

You would be surprised how daft some buyers are.

On more than one occasion over the past 10-11 years a buyer has asked me why they are blocked from buying from me, and when I check it is because they were non payers the first time.

I even had an email argument once with someone who complained loud and long about how she was ripped off as I overcharged her for an item that she could have bought cheaper elsewhere. Even though it wasn't even on my business account I refunded her in full and relisted the item and obviously blocked her, only to have her email complaining to me that she couldn't get this item anywhere else and she would after all take it off my hands at the original price but found she was unable to bid and why had I dared block her...

You leave a 1 for something being a day late? Do you check whether the fault is RM.
Would you mind posting your ebay id please, so that we can all ban you from bidding on any of our items.

I don't think you understand the meaning of giving 1 stars, also are you talking about the item being posted one day late, or arriving? The seller can only control when they send, not when RM deliver.
If you don't mind seeing your seller being kicked out of ebay because of a 1-day delay, then carry one as you are doing...
