Tesco has accidentally made it easier, however. By allowing electronic (online) redemption of the points, which means you don't have to send in the vouchers, the customer is left with the voucher which they can then take to Sainsbury's/Asda and spend all over again. Sainsbury's/Asda has no clue that the voucher has already been redeemed when they take it as part payment.

Indeed - And because of the fact these are sent out to specific customers and it has all the 'Property of Tesco Stores LTD...blah blah blah' on the back it may even be illegal for other stores to accept them;)

I remember when Safeway stopped their loyalty card a few years back and Tesco accepted them all in return for 200 points - Tesco then had to return all the cards they had recieved to Safeway H/O:rolleyes:

Incidentally, are we sure Asda/Sainsbury's actually tries to redeem the clubcard vouchers? I can't see how they possibly can. I did try to get the info out of some bod at my local Asda, but he didn't know how they do it. He did say, however, that Asda does get them redeemed.

What you mean the stores actually redeem them?? I can only think H/O will pass credit for the stores accepting them but in the end they will simply be a loss on bottom line profits.
