devonpilgrim wrote:ok just rang Germany - Wal mart still where they are but loads have gone - but anyway do we really care?? Can we stop pretending we work for Forbes and all go back to discussing misprices. This thread is getting worse what with TE and the other warring parties no one else gets a look in.
Large 3 page article in the industry magazine 'The Grocer' a few months ago - Walmart sold off the stores that were of any interest to anyone, they have closed down several stores and continue to trade in a few until a buyer is found.Stand Up For What You Believe In, Even If It Means Standing Alone0 -
TescoEmployee wrote:So your telling me people only shop at Tesco because of their refund policy?? That is an absurd comment so if Tesco suddenly stopped offering r+r or sorted out their pricing issues then they would not longer be market leaders?? Tesco currently have over 30% market share (Double the amount of Sainsbury's and Asda).
there is only 1 reason I go to tesco and that is to find r+r's. my mum shops there for tinned meats, they are nicer than anyone elses she may buy a pack of crisps and bottle of coke at the same time but that is it. if r+r stoped I would no longer go to tesco. my gran used to shop there but no longer does as Asda is better value.
1 example, Tesco cadbury chocolate 2 for £2 or £1.35 each. asda do them £1 each.
I have used tesco for the last few months for fuel in my car and van but thats becasue I had a few £5p off a litre vouchers but once they run out I will be going to the cheapest place Im passing. normally asda agian0 -

Look i appreciate that this forum is used to discuss r+r's and when i intially registered on here the nasty reation to my posts would be enough to make anyone bite back and to use your term 'become a troll' - Maybe you should be nicer to TE's especially when we get phone calls to tell us which store will be selling 20 wii's tomorrow!;)Stand Up For What You Believe In, Even If It Means Standing Alone0

TescoEmployee wrote:I wouldn't take offence to you saying i was on 'Options' - Its actually an award winning industry scheme, and 'Options' is the term used whatever stage of your career you are in - Wether it be progressing to a SEM, ST or SM.
Ah, but if you knew the people that I know who are on Options, you'd see why I said not to take offence. Some people make it onto Options due to who they know, not how they perform... Sometimes, it helps to have the SM as a personal friend of your parents...In a rut? Can't get out? Don't know why?

'Options' is another internal problem - As you pointed out as much of it is to do with if your face fits;)Stand Up For What You Believe In, Even If It Means Standing Alone0 -
thank you TE as that would explain why relatives still have theirs but loads have gone - makes sense.0

TescoEmployee wrote:Just to comment on your last point when working in retail staff will always be on the 'front line' and face all customer complaints etc, - Regardless of which retailer you work for you always face the wrath of the disgruntled customer. I worked for Sainsbury's for a few years, and i still keep in touch with several of the Managers there and i can say in my opinion they were awful to work for but at the time their only focus was to compete with Tesco.
Sainsbury's used to focus on Tesco. That is not the case any more, as you've rightfully pointed out. I'm quite happy to watch Sainsbury's over the next few years, as I think its market share will increase consistently and steadily. In a rut? Can't get out? Don't know why?

I quite agree, and as i said above....lose the troll image, post constructively, and I will even welcome you, even though we know you will correct misprices....which we dont care about.
It was the attitude that made you unbearable.Couponing....."every little hurts"

But all the people can't be all right all the time. .........I think Abraham Lincoln said that.
