A Slimmer Summer with Slimming World

Well I ate stacks of fruit today, homemade couscous with salad, peas, chick peas, Ryvita and houmous for lunch (both HEBs) ... so far, so good.
Then I realised I'd be working late, and there were some biscuits I'd won in a raffle on my desk. Worse still, they didnb't appear to have any nutritional information on the pack ... but they were pretty thin shortbreads, with lemon zest ...so I'm hoping I could count (shhh....all 4 .... shhhh) within my Syns and still have enough for the green pesto and meringue I had when I got home with pasta and strawberries. (Not altogether, obviously!) Am I making any sense?
I hope it's working anyhow because I really, really want to be under that magic stone on my home scales and hit my first shiny sticker this week. My clothes fit so much better than a fortnight ago and I need to get up that attic to find some old ones to fit back into. I know DH wants me to buy a new outfit when we go out for my birthday but to be honest I can't see me wearing jumpsuits, ditsy prints or tangerine coloured capri pants with the gusset around my knees! and so many of you have said you were in new clothes and out of them again so quickly that I wonder if it's worth it. Perhaps I'll treat myself to some coloured shoes instead.
Oh - and Lisa - congrats and welcome back!
Scotrae x
I've got some pasta ready for tomorrow too.
Now if only I could fit some exercising into week days, apart from two brisk 15 minnute walks between the car park and the office.0 -
Glad you're back safe and sound Lisa and many congratulations:)
I've had a good EE day, rounded off with a little late night snack which was delicious: I sauteed a chopped rasher of bacon with some sliced mushrooms and then griddled some asparagus to go with it. Yum! Yum!0 -
heads up guys, they are giving away fibre plus bars at london bridge station.
(which usually means they are being given away in all major london stations)
i managed to grab 3 and was well pleased!0 -
made loads of pasta so i have it for lunch tomorrow too - only thing is i used frozen brocolli and it all came out rather watery,
does anyone know how to make frozen veg come out nicer?
I found the best thing for frozen cauli and brocc is to steam it.working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0 -

Thanks for the couscous syns, I lurve Ainsleys couscous
:rotfl:I lost the bet, I thought you'd gain 2lbs :rotfl:
I struggled a bit last night, I really wanted to eat junk :EasterBunbut I survived on cheese on toast (HEBs) and an Options and finished the day on a saintly 10syns :A
Today:
B: Bubble n squeak and 'fried' eggs
S: Yoghurt and a banana
L: Salad, couscous with grilled veg and cottage cheese (or I might go and get a JP and beans coz I'm FREEZING)
S: more fruit if I need it????? possibly pasta - need a quicky tea as it's dancing tonight  so cheese on toast (HEBs) for supper when I get in!
I know my menus are a bit samey but it's the week before payday and with what I spent to get the car through it's MOT last week..... :money:
Well done to the losers :T0 -
On a lighter note, the Florida flights have gone down £20 each so im debating book today or hang on a while longer....???
Personally I'd go for it minxtress because then you'd have the satisfaction of knowing (and telling the children) that it's all sorted and you're definitely going. Downside, you have to live with any further reductions...
Thanks for the couscous info nessie. I've got a packet of the roasted veg in the cupboard so it'll be a good low syn lunch standby on days when I eat all my HEB for breakfast:).
EE menu for me today:
B: NAS squash, baked beans, HEB toast, HEA milk in teas
L: sandwich (marmite or ham with salad) and bowl of berries with fromage frais(I'm out for a meeting but we'll eat in the pub first) steak, jacket, tomatoes, peas.
Snacks & Syns: more fruit (definitely not enough superfree as it stands) and glass of Merlot with dinner (8.5syns)0 -
WARNING!! RANT AND A VERY 'I FEEL SOOO SORRY FOR MYSELF' POST COMING UP!!
well dissapointing wi for me last night1/2 lb off. yep, i KNOW its a loss but i was completely on plan for 6 days and on saturday i didnt eat as much as i should due to studying all day so i did expect more. 2 of the days were 2/3 super free too
In 3 weeks i have lost 2lb so i know its the right dIrection, but goodness its so slow when i consider i have at least 2.5st to loose.
I did hit the 1 stone mark thoi didnt stay for class as its exam week so didnt even get my shiny
see told you it was a woe is me post lol
I know a lot of it could be down to the fact that even tho i have lost 1st through SW i have lost 2st since giving birth 10 weeks ago..when you put it like that it is a real achievement!
I feel quite disillussioned today tho tbh
I cant see where i am going wrong. I have gone over my food diary and i am deffo doing at least 1/3 superfree. I dont go over my sins - i over estimate if anything rather than under. I stick to about 60 syns a week, 65 max.
Portion sizes, i know i love to eat so have been doing sw recipies for 2 weeks and portioning it all up so i know i am having realistic portions and i stop eating when i am full. If i have for example a sw curry i always make sure i leave plenty room for a bowl of fruit salad to even up the superfrees
i cant get moving as much as i would like to burn off some fat as i am still having some probs from my epidural site so at times i can hardly move and the GP has told me not to do much until i see physio in 3 weeks. so this could be the problem?
Sorry for the really negative post, but i needed to vent
Can anyone suggest ways to speed my loss ?
I have set myself goals which i dont think are now achieveable and it really makes me feel like saying 'sod it i am meant to be fat!!'
I am about 4lb off being what has been for several years my usual weight so maybe my body is just stabalising, in the past i have found i can not get past that weight and when i have tried in the past i have given up after a few weeks of trying to get past it but i AM DETERMINED to get past it and to my goal this time
well done all our loosers, and i hope you are all staying positive0
