Once again, welcome to the newbies and welcome back to the 'oldies'.

There seems to be an awful lot of bad days about at the mo! Try not to stress about them, accept that it happens but remember not to let a bad day become a bad week........often followed by a bad month ;)

I have probably posted this before, but it's as true now as it always was and may help someone who's struggling:-

How to succeed with Slimming World

    1. Set realistic goals - changing too much at once is setting yourself up for a fall

    2. PLAN - planning ahead really is the key. There is no point starting a diet if you shopped yesterday and the cupboards are filled with snacks.

    3. SW is a healthy eating plan for LIFE not a faddy diet - include the things you love... everything in moderation

    4. Use your syns - they are there to help you and stop you feeling deprived. Starting off thinking you are being good not using your syns won’t work long term.

    5. Follow any eating plan 100% - half hearted attempts and tweaking things here and there may not give you the results you expect

    6. If you slip up don't worry - just try again... NEVER GIVE UP

    7. Put a photo of yourself on the fridge of how you used to look or cut a figure out of a magazine of how you'd like to look.

    8. Don't stick with the same food. Have plenty of variety & try out new recipes & foods so you don't get bored. This is not a diet just a healthy way of eating!

    9. Set yourself treats/rewards for each mini goal you reach - things such as an hour reading or a manicure, new book, massage - it doesn't have to be expensive but something you don't normally make time for.

    10. Before you eat something with a large syn value ask yourself the question "Is it worth the syns" if you don’t know the value check them out first.

    11. Measure yourself on a monthly basis, you might not have lost much weight in one month but you will have lost Inches!!!

I let my mind wander and it never came back!

Perhaps that is why the sin count is so low:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: if you cough for 30 mins you're practically exercising aren't you?:A

They'd sell loads more if they advertised them as "Body Magic in a bag" :rotfl:

This made me laugh - it's obviously not by someone following Food Optimising though:-
    Dieter's Psalm

Strict is my diet. I must not want.
It maketh me to lie down at night hungry.
It leadeth me past the confectioners.
    It trieth my willpower.
It leadeth me in the paths of alteration for my figure's sake.
Yea, though I walk through the aisles of the pastry department,

I will buy no sweet rolls for they are fattening.
The cakes and the pies, they tempt me.
Before me is a table set with green beans and lettuce.
I filleth my stomach with liquids,
    My day's quota runneth over.
Surely calorie and weight charts will
follow me all the days of my life,
And I will dwell in the fear of scales forever.
I let my mind wander and it never came back!

I have a confession to make: Saturday and Sunday I followed a different plan to SW. It was called the 'eat what I bl**dy like plan', including 6 glasses of wine and 4 liquiers on Saturday night.
Sunday DH was away watching football so I went to the shops and bought loads of carp!!!

So not surprised the scales show a gain of 3lb so far this week!!!!

Today I have made a huge effort as follows:

    2 eggs scrambled (½ HA)
    2 tomatoes
    2 wm toast (HB)

2 sweet potato, broccoli and cheddar patties (½ HA)
    Rocket leaves
    Salad cream (1syn)

    Shepherds Pie
    Broccoli/cauliflower/carrots

    Frozen strawberries/raspberries
    Blueberries - natural yoghurt

    2 finger kitkat – 5½syns

    Evening all!
Having a grumpy day today - long day at work followed by an OH who seems to have regressed to being a 14 year old boy - why are men soooo annoying sometimes? (Sorry to any of the male species here!:o)

Food wise its been average I suppose....
Breakfast - Oaty bar (B choice)
    Mid morning - banana
Lunch - Tesco Finest Moroccan couscous (2.5 syns), satsuma, strawberries
Tea - 2.5 quorn sausages (half for dog!), HM mashed potato (2 syns for marg), beans, bit of grated cheese (A choice)
Extras - glass of wine (6 syns)

So that's 1 A choice, 1 B choice and 10.5 syns (damn that wine and a mega grump)

I have some stewed apple (B choice) for dessert but am a bit full so may not bother - will try drinking squash instead, think I'm not drinking but eating when I'm really thirsty not hungry if that makes sense?

Oh, and thanks to Nessie and others for posting their disaster days - it always makes you feel better to know you're not alone with the slip ups! Dust biscuits for you for the rest of the week!;)

Hello all! I'm back from Honeymoon! We had an absolutely fabulous wedding day and ther honeymoon was good too although I did get ill for a day and a half, the plus side being I don't think I'll have put too much weight on and will hopefully still be withing the 3lb range of target so I don't have to pay!!!

Welcome back Lisa, hope you had a fabby time..

Dizzy, glad they can repair the car.. hope Mr Dizzy is ok driving the new one. I'd still be a bit shaky after that!
I'm so glad someone else has noticed this!

We had some at a taster/mini party for Zelda - the biggest loser and a member of our group. The bloke I sit next to warned me not to breathe in whilst eating them - it had taken him 30 mins to eat a pack the previous week because he'd kept coughing!

Perhaps that is why the sin count is so low:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: if you cough for 30 mins you're practically exercising aren't you?:A

:rotfl:it seems it happens to everyone! Well i'm happy to burn calories whilst eating crisps! The cheese and onion ones don't have the same effect though!

Think i've eaten too much fruit today cos i have a poorly tummy..(it wasn't the 4 mini flakes I've had honest:o) feel bloated etc so i'm hoping that won't add anymore weight on for tomorrows weigh in! I definitely need some lightweight clothes to wear:rotfl:

Right well another birthday at work tomorrow with blooming cakes and that so i'll try my hardest to stay away but who knows!

    See you all tomorrow xx

    hi guys,

just want to put my whole days food on so i can keep track and confess if i need to (but not today)

    green;

b - muller light, grapes, 2 x alpen light (heb)
    l - apple, muller light, wotsits (4.5)
snack - benecol cholesterol drink (1.5)
d - pasta with chopped tomatoes, sweetcorn, chopped onion, brocolli, coop wholemeal pitta (heb)

pud - strawberries, 2 mini meringues (5), muller light

so that is 11 syns. but i have not had any hea so may nibble a babybel or 2 before bed.

made loads of pasta so i have it for lunch tomorrow too - only thing is i used frozen brocolli and it all came out rather watery,
does anyone know how to make frozen veg come out nicer?

also wanted to add about velvet crisps - i wonder why only the sweet chilli ones make people cough and the cheese and onion ones dont!?!?

I use the spice sensation that is half a syn, but I had less than a 3rd of a packet so I dont count it... ( with the usual radish, onion, pepper, chopped carrot etc to up the superfree)

Well, it started sooo well, and had all the good intentions - then I went to my friends for tea!!!

First things first, WI this morning!!!:T:T:T:T:T - 4lbs off WHOOP WHOOP!!!:T:T:T:T:T

    B - 45g All bran (HEB plus 0.5 syns)

    Snack - Strawberries, Raspberries, Blueberries

L - Turkey and Ham Salad, Yogurt,

D - I convinced my friend that Vegetable Pasta was nicer than Lasange!! So, she then put a tbsp of oil in a frizzled onions, mushrooms, peppers a chilli, tomatoes and passata. THen OMG she added a whole ball of mozzerella (125g)

Oh, and she did Garlic Bread!!! (I had 2 slices!!)

So Syns; All Bran (0.5), Oil (6 - I am over estimating), 1/2 a mozzerella ball (7) and 2 slices of Garlic (10)

    So, 23.5 syns - bu**er!!

    Oh well, start again tomorrow!!
