posted by Mrs M in our last sw thread! :) nom nom nom

    These are the "OX burgers"

    Ox burger
    makes 6X100g burgers

    • 500g extra lean minced steak
    • 1 onion -finely chopped
    • 1tbs capers - well chopped
    • gherkin-finely chopped - (about 1tbs once chopped)
    • 1tsp wholegrain mustard (0.5)
    • 1tsp worcestershire sauce.
    • 2tbs fat free natural yoghurt
    1. Squish everything together with your hands and chill for about 1hr
    2. break of 100g pieces and shape into patties (I have a burger press )
    3. place back in the fridge until required
    4. heat a non-stick frying pan and cook drop them in and let them seal before turning over and cooking the other side -I cooked them on a fairly high heat to stop them losing all their juices

    • stick to the plan when you're away (easier done when self-catering)
    • do flexi syns so do your best but maybe have a few extra treats
    • the 's*d it' approach (although they didn't call it that;))
I'm all for the third option but the article said that the choice you make will depend how confident you are to return to the plan. Personally I think that even if you go for 'forget slimming on holiday' you will still make some wise choices as healthy eating gets ingrained after a while with SW.

    We were self catering! :o

I started off on the second option having fruit and yoghurt for breakfast but soon succumbed to fresh bread and jam from the bakery outside our hotel - the smell of fresh baked bread just wafted over the balcony! :o and rapidly made it to the third option :rotfl:

Having said all that we still didn't have any butter on our bread and the spready cheese was the light variety so not all good habits went to the wall:rotfl: We did indulge ourselves with more cheese than we would ordinarily have but hey - its me jollies ;)

Hi all, have weighed and have lost 4lbs in my first week :D

    Seriously chuffed with that.

just one question - if I was to go for an ebay sw recipe book, which would you recommend? I'm doing extra easy but that recipe book seems to go for quite a bit of money.

    congrats on the loss

re books- you need to make sure they include ee - its quite new so many of the books dont have it in. tbh i have several and theres nothing in them that cant be found online

what do you enjoy eating? i can look in my books and post for you. OR I can log onto sw and copy and paste lol :)

Are you not attending a group? i assume not, so do you know anyone who attends a group who could buy for you? as i say, i do use mine but i know i could find the info online

    i love the italian cookbook. i use it 2 - 3 times a week :)

what do I enjoy eating - food!!! :rotfl:

No I'm not attending a group - thought it would be a bit cheeky to go for one meeting, buy books and never be seen again :D i may ask the lady at work if she still goes and/or if I can borrow any recipe books to look through.

I don't like cream but was looking for ideas of sauces other than hm tomato to put on pasta. usually cook from scratch in any case. Too much dairy aggravates my eczema so I have to watch how much yoghurt etc I have.

Like most foods really, have checked out slimming eats website and the few on slimming world without a password.

Any other website suggestions would be good too.

I'm doing extra easy because OH loves meat and has to have it for it to be a proper meal, but I can live without most of it, other than chicken and bacon, but we both eat loads of veg so it seemed the best option.

What is your fave italian recipe then?

Dont botherwith the "World of flavours" as most of the recipes I tried just didnt work out that well.

Im going to put it on ebay soon I think, I wont use it much now I dont think.
 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
    This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast
