Dizzy, I hope Mr Dizzy's ok!

AnnieG, I think you were quite restrained at the buffet ;) Back on track now?

I had a change at lunchtime, I went to town to return the top and got caught in a torrential downpour on the way back :mad: So, very wet and cold I went through the canteen and got a JP and beans :) the salad will keep for tomorrows lunch!

2 syns so far today and only 33 for the week so I will enjoy my wine tonight!!!

Just to add to the french onion soup recipe - i always put a tbsp of balsamic vinager, a few drops of worcester sauce and a sprinkle of thyme before the stock, it gives it a really nice flavour.

Ooh that sounds nice, will try that, thanks x

ETA: just found this on SW website

Fish & Chip Shops, Haddock in Batter, average portion, 120g small 9 14
Fish & Chip Shops, Haddock in Batter, average portion, 170g medium 13 19½
Fish & Chip Shops, Haddock in Batter, average portion, 225g large 17 26
Fish & Chip Shops, Haddock in Batter, batter removed, average large portion, 225g serving Free 9

so if large without batter is 9 on green - would it be 1 healthy extra & 3 syns? So get a medium to have jut as healthy extra?

Depends what plan you're following, you could probably use the large, batterless fish as a HEB + 3 syns if you're having a Green day, but I think you might be on shaky ground guessing whether the medium one could be counted just as a HEB since you won't know the weight of it.

Dizzy - hope your OH is ok. I wrote our car off in the snow in January (first accident in over 40 years driving) and it was the most terrifying experience I've ever had. The car was going wherever it wanted and not responding to the steering wheel at all - sheesh, I hope it never happens again

    Hello everyone!

Welcome newbies.... :D Youll be losers like us soon!

Well what a whirly day. OH has been told he has an interview :T Ive been at work and had a great day, then found out that I have the offer to volunteer/work at Glastonbury festival, but I have to go like a day and a half after we get back from the States  Plus its mine & OHs anniversary ( we met there) and, well obviously hes a little put out. Plus there's the small fact it will cost money to get there/ eat and neither of us are earning at the moment  Lots to think about! We will see!

Had quite a good day on SW:

Went to sainsburys and got a mini salad ( 2 syn im going to say cos of what I chose) 99p plus cottage cheese a packet of pagens ( HEB) and some french fries that I shared with oh so (2 syn) Felt nice out on the bench with my lunch and I was well chuffed as I managed not to spill it down myself.

However, Ive come home to find that OH has got Tesco Steak pie for tea (why? :wall:) Im expecting this is about 17 sysn. Having tis with SW mash, peas, carrots and onion gravy (1 syn) I will forgo my extra HEB today to make up for it ( I know this is not a good idea) but sometimes you cant waste money on food cos its "wrong" .

I understand those new peeps among us that worry about wasting food when you cant afford it.

I have managed to work in most things from the cupboards, there are few little things lurking but most has gone ( apart from 2 massive Xmas puddings, I cant bring myself to eat lol)

Some clothes came from my M&S order and the size 10 top was way too big so Im not worried yet, Im sure this pie wnot do that mcuh harm altho its weigh in tomorrow so we'll see :D
 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
    This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast

Auntycat, go get a referral from your doctors who will pay for 12 weeks free for you, if you lose 10% of your body weight in those 12 weeks you get another 12 free. I find going to class very beneficial, but dont think I would like to pay a fiver a week if im honest. I love the free classes though as all the tips and support I pick up have really helped me along with this fab lot.

Sadly not every health authority does the SW referrals but it's worth asking :)

Big welcome to all the newbies we're getting lately - it's lovely to see you all :)

There are a couple of threads about weight loss issues on the boards where I have been shamelessly plugging our thread :D

AuntyCat - there's much more to group than 'paying someone to weigh you and tell you you're fat', lol. If you're lucky enough to get a really good Consultant you should come away from the group fired up with enthusiasm every week, not to mention all the recipes and tips that get passed from member to member.

However, if you really don't want to go every week, it's well worth your while joining to get the books and the introductory chat......it's much cheaper than getting them off eBay and you're sure to get the most up-to-date edition :)
