Thanks Nessie. Yes I know I CAN DO IT but in a way that makes it worse, because if I can do it then why don't I just get on with it instead of messing about the way I have been, I know exactly What to do, what I can/can't eat, when my danger times are etc. but I still do it all wrong sometimes, even though I know it's wrong, give me strength.

I just read that back and it doesn't make a lot of sense but hopefully you get what I mean!

Hey Lo, good to see you back among the clan :D I took the scenic route to target and think, in retrospect, that it's the best way to go. It gives you time to learn new habits and also teaches you that, no matter how well organised you are, life has a way of biting you on the bum when you're not looking :D

We're all in this for the long-term and it would be strange indeed if nothing ever went wrong, so plaster on a smile, get out your books and plan, plan, plan ;)

    AAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRGGGGGHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!

    :mad::mad::mad:

Sorry for the completely off topic rant, feel free to ignore, I'm just so at the end of my tether and don't want to complain on facebook or anywhere where colleagues etc are for fear of making the whole situation worse. :(

As has already been said, unless you know the way around the system and use all the loopholes you;re stuffed! It does seem wrong that you can't get anything at all  However, don't apologise for having a moan, we're here to listen and sympathise and push you firmly back on the SW track :D

I'm glad it's not just me! I suppose as long as the Consultant gets us through the door with our money then it matters not if we then !!!!!! off home.

I feel like telling her that I'm bored to tears, and I can't be the only one.

Are consultants bound by some contract to stick to the same format week in week out?

I used to hate going from person to person with their weekly/overall loss but it is a formula that has to be followed and if the group is large it can get very long-winded. Each Consultant has a certain amount of free rein though and taster sessions, quizzes etc ought to be part of the plan at least once a month.

Room for one more in here?

I used to do slimming world an age ago, and am back with it because it's obvious even to me that 2 pairs of my pants didn't simultaneously shrink in the wash.

Haven't weighed myself yet, and will be doing it alone, since I'm in Australia. Also am relying on my memory and google to sort myself out with it. So it's red and green days for me, since that's what I'm familiar and comfy with.

Probably need to lose about a stone at a blind guess. But am intending to make SW a part of life for the foreseeable future to maintain it. As I've passed 33 I've noticed it takes less eating to gain, and I'm unemployed right now, so not doing an active job to keep it off.

On day 3 of going it alone, and am discovering just how few things exist over here to help me along with it. And those few things that do exist.... sheesh the price! Quorn sausages are about 6 for 5 quid here.
I haven't even managed to track down a fat free sugar free yoghurt yet. Can someone mail me a toffee mullerlight?? :rotfl:

Really looking forward to a trip to England in a couple of weeks.... will be stuffing my suitcase with scanbran

A few years ago SW changed polenta from being a free food to being 5 syns per 28g because so many people were using it to make cakes and muffins. Has this changed back again recently?

I don't use it for cakes or muffins, I only mix it with water and a little stock. I checked with my consultant and we found it on the website listed with couscous and other grains as free on Green days. I make it from scratch as the ready made stuff is quite high in syns.

I don't go to class any more (so can't get on the website) but at the time the consultant said that as long as I was losing it was ok to use it in this way.

Out of curiosity when I make a batch this weekend I will syn it, I make a block and slice it thinly so it lasts me a week.

Yet a friend who has rarely worked (only when the govt caught up with him a couple of times, it seems to me) of the same age as me is in sheltered (free) accommodation and it is all being rebuilt - he has put in for, and got, a semi detached bungalow with TWO bedrooms and a split bloody level cooker HE NEVER EVEN COOKS.

Thanks all, particularly you BR for your lovely post. Your friend is just like mine, who has been on disability benefits for years and is now at the point where the government is cutting hers down (she is healthy enough to work now) and she is resisting and making excuses to stay on them, openly says she doesn't want to go back to work and will do her best to stay on benefits. She has a new car, multiple (expensive!) pets and a life of riley, which I feel is all being rubbed in my face at the moment. Like you, I have paid tax and NI since I was old enough to work, but enough of my whinging, because I am usually an optimistic little soul and yesterday was a mere blip and I'm sure something better will come up soon :)

My latest is... I lost a lb this week. I'm still not feeling like doing SW 100% and have found a great website which monitors calories and I seem to be able to stick to plan against that pretty well - mainly SW food, but more flexibility over syns ;). I've done so much exercise recently, too :A My ankle is the size of an elephant's leg sometimes now, though :rotfl:

Morning everyone, I have lost 2lbs this week so very happy with that, another 2.5 and I will be under my next stone which will be fantastic to see, not sure what I'm having today yet, need to sort out the freezers and plan for the next week.

Made a huge batch of the superspeed soup last night which I need to split up and put in the freezer (if I can find some room lol!), just tried on some summer trousers today that I have had since last year and they dropped down (they are a size 14) oh dear!!!
