Aghhhh, please help! We went to Beefeater for a work lunch today and I ordered steak, jacket potato, grilled mushroom and tomato - but I got chips. We were pushed for time and I didn't want to cause a fuss so I ate the chips thinking it would be fie as I hadn't had any other syns today and only 5 yesterday and the day before.

I've been trawling the net to see if I can syn them and came across a post where someone says allow about 20 syns for the chips. Really? Does anyone have any idea how I can syn them without knowing the weight?

I went and bought a bag of natco cornmeal (easy, got it at Tesco, as you said, under £1) and have been looking for recipes. I found one on the BBC Food Recipes website for polenta pizza, which hardly needs adapting at all to be SW Friendly. Am I correct in thinking that using polenta in this way would still be free on EE? If so, I shall try it, you could add all sorts of stirfry veg, and even transmogrify it into frittata or quiche.

B: polenta, mushrooms, eggs, ketchup (1)

A few years ago SW changed polenta from being a free food to being 5 syns per 28g because so many people were using it to make cakes and muffins. Has this changed back again recently?

My consultant is not like that - fair enough we have had a couple of those weeks & my old consultant was like that - but we have done some different things e.g. secret weigh in, this week was split into groups & figured out what to do for a dinner party, come dine with me groups etc.

You have to be a little understanding as there are not many other thing to do & alternative things takes time to prepare etc.

I think it all depends on the consultant

Also, it is a group to discuss how well you have done & what you can do better!

Maybe talk to your consultant on the side and ask her if she could mix it up a bit - give her some suggestions aswell!

Perfect Q to ask yourself is how would you do it?

P.s. please don't take the above to sound rude, reading it back i do sound sharp, but i don't mean to be :o

;) I have to totally agree with you here nessie, there is a certain amount of 'structure' that classes take, but its down to the individual consultant on how interesting they make that format.

Our consultant gets each person involved in group discussion
.... I personally ALWAYS come away from class feeling like Its been worth staying - having picked up some little tip,or a recipe, or just the 'will' to have a 100% week !

Whilst there is still the 'Happy Clapping' I don't mind as it works both ways.....some weeks its for me when I'm getting my Shineys and lets face it - it DOES make you feel happy :p

Weekly classes - does anyone get fed up with them or is it just me?

Every week it's the same -

Jane, you've lost 2 pounds this week, well done. (Everyone claps.) What about the week ahead? Another 2 pounds? Go for it!

Mary, you've lost a pound this week, well done. (Everyone claps.)
What would you like to lose for next week? 2 pounds, yes, well, you can do it. Go for it!

Sandra, you've lost two and a half stones all together. Well done. (More clapping, a bit muted because we know she's either gained or stayed the same.) Not so good this week though, what do you think went wrong? Blah blah blah............... What do you hope for in the week ahead?

So it goes on................... for about an hour and a half, depending on how many have stayed. I could scream sometimes!

I'm starting to weigh and go these days, but resent paying £4.95 just for that. Years ago I used to go to WW and it was different every week, different topics for discussion, sometimes things weighed out so that you could see portion sizes, a new recipe etc etc. It was interesting!

Is this just my class that is so bloomin boring?

That does seem a bit samey. Our class is like that about once a month, but i like catching up with how everyone is doing otherwise i'd only know how much weight i'd lost. The other weeks we have taster sessions or we have races in groups to find syn values of things etc... The other few weeks our consultant throws it open to the floor and asks what we want to talk about..

I know its not your "job" to suggest things but could you possibly say something to your consultant like "i've heard another class where my friend goes had a taster session where everyone bought some food in, could we perhaps try that one week, i'd be really interested in what other people eat." She may just be stuck in a rut and has always done her class that way..

Is there another class in your area that you could visit and see if its any better for you?

    Evening skinnies!
Skintslimmer - so sorry you're having a rough time, it always seems to all happen at once, doesn't it?

I've got the lurgy, sore throat, earache etc so this evening has been a bit of a washout, I'd meant to go shopping but couldn't face it.
    Today has been green:

    Porridge and blueberries (HEB)
3 mini babybel and 3 pagens (HEA +B)
    Milk in drinks (HEA)
    SW quiche
    grapes, banana
    jacket potato and cottage cheese
    melon

A twirl (15 syns?) and a chocolate biscuit (5?) but, I'd had hardly any all week and this morning had 90 left to use before Friday evening, so I have no problem with having had a chocolatey afternoon!

I think I'll give success express a go tomorrow and Friday, I REALLY want to meet my pre-Singapore target which is 9lbs by 5 June.

Have a lovely evening everyone xx

    hello all

I'm still here but am too busy to post at the moment. I've had a friend to stay for 10 days and now I have lots of uni work to do so won't be posting much for next 2 weeks. I STS this week, which I was happy with as I had 3 days off plan when my friend was here!

Hope you are all doing well!!
