A Slimmer Summer with Slimming World

One thing that's been bothering me is that I'm still eating stacks of food rather than sticking to mealtimes and that concerns me because I've got a history of erratic eating and feel that I ought to be getting over that. But maybe I ought to put worrying about that on the back burner for the first few weeks so long as I can lose weight, even if that means stuffing my face with whatever fills me up!
Eat until you are satisfied (not stuffed too much to move, lol), the more you eat (of the right foods) the more you will lose, honestly, it's that simple.
Try to eat regularly and not miss meals out as this can cause problems with your metabolism - grazing is perfectI let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -
Just been looking at the Worthenshaws website - they make dairy free 'ice cream' type puds - suitable for allergy sufferers - I had some on holiday as I'm vegan and this is dairy/egg free. Creator was on Dragons Den a while back and got backing to fund marketing the range.
Anyway noticed this on their facebook page:
Our products are 4.5syns per quarter tub
Now a tub would last me ages - this is lower than the soya ice cream swedish glace I use to have pre slimming world, think that is 6 syns per small scoop. I would have this as syns in summer if I ever fancied ice cream - it's really sweet so would not need a lot 1/8th tub max in one go.
This is the range -

Foods such as potatoes, pasta, lean meat and fish etc along with fairly large amounts of fruit and veg, fill you up for longer and have far less calories than things like crisps, sweets and biscuits.
I don't subscribe to the "I want to lose all this weight by the end of the month" brigade because it's not a healthy way to lose and it's not sustainable, so once your holiday comes around you'll go off the 'diet' and this time next year you'll be looking for another quick-fix.
I'm sorry if that sounds harsh, but over the years this 'yo-yo dieting' will cause you more heartache than you will feel from starting a proper, healthy (Slimming World) plan now which may not see you at your target by your holiday this year, but could see you there for ever after.
Hi thanks for your advice and no it dosent seem harsh at all. I have done some more research into slimming world today and i think im gonna give it a try it cant hurt to try.
thanks again for your advice x0 -

Thanks:)
I do extra easy but rarely eat carbs, I mean definitely not with every meal. I might have cereal with fruit and yog 3 times a week and skip the cereal on other days; never eat bread; potato with a meal perhaps twice a week max (if I do a jacket potato it lasts me two-three meals!); pasta or rice less than once a week. I lost steadily an average of one pound a week (sometimes two, but sometimes I put one on for a change)! I guess not all of us are that keen on carbs.Oh and can anyone advise roughly how long a Muller needs in the freezer to get to ice-cream consistency? I've had two attempts: one I forgot about and was rock hard, the other I was too impatient and there were just a few cold bits around the edges.
Our group had a taster session tonight, everything was lovely, I even tried a tiny bit of the scanbran cake which did taste nice and gingery but am not a cake fan. I'm full now, which is a pity cos I prepared a salad before I went :rotfl: see I try to be healthy!:jThat's 2 stone 9 lbs gone forever:j

Thanks for all the advice on 'ice-cream' making, I'll give it a try when I'm in for a full evening and feeling hungry enough.
Don't be too down about your tiny gain welsh woofer although it is very depressing when it happens. Use it to motivate yourself to stick really strictly to the plan to make up for it. Hope your dog's not too exhausted after its Body Magic.
I hope you had a good time at the Toby dizzy (and anyone else who decided to go along as well:)). When I was there last week they had lots of really fresh broccoli. I don't have a yorkshire but I do have a couple of roasties. I'm hoping new potatoes will come on the menu soon too, I'm sure they do in summer. I was dreading my first visit on SW but actually it's a wonderful place to have superfrees when you think how mean some restaurants are with veg.
Have had a good EE day but tomorrow I'm having lunch at a friend's home. I'm hoping for something salady but have a few spare syns just in case. It's only since people have started noticing how much weight I've lost (great isn't it:D) and asked how that I've started telling them about SW so I don't expect anyone to make me special menus. In fact, I like showing them that I can eat 'normal' food and still lose weight.0 -
Hi all
Have had to get my books out again yesterday as I have taken my eye off the ball (IYNWIM).
Have put on 6½ in 4 weeks, (since I stopped going to club).
Money is tight again as DH as taken a huge pay cut to keep his business afloat (and keep 12 staff in work)
I suffer with periods of depression so find it hard to keep a job.
Today I have tried to keep busy by helping my elderly mum. Vaccumed out her car and raked up all the grass that the council lawn mowers leave behind. (body magic)
Breakfast - porridge
Lunch - none (not good)
Dinner - chicken, new potatoes, mashed butternut squash, cauliflower, and broccoli
Activia yoghurt 0% fat, ½ banana
1 Lidl orange flavoured choc biscuit - 7 syns approx
