Afternoon all - weigh in day today and have put on 0.5 lbs - Poo! Bum! and Pants! It's my first gain and I thought it hadn't been a bad week.
Never mind - I suppose its only half a pound (and I lost 3 last week:().

Today's food is .... (green as always)...
Breakfast - Oaty bar (B choice)
Lunch - Tesco Finest Moroccan couscous (2.5 syns), satsuma, grapes, strawberries
Snack - Hifi bar after grumpy WI! (B choice)
Tea - Mexican bake (free from SW mag) with cheese on top (A choice)

    So that's 2 B choices, 1 A choice and 2.5 syns so far.

Will probably have some sugar fre jelly later whilst sulking about gain!
The dog is having an extra long walk tonight!

I dont know how Id cope with a gain, I suppose we all have to cross that bridge sometime. Like you say its your first one im sure itl be your last.

I've had 3 gains so far but that was due to a holiday, a weekend away and a weekend of parties! I enjoyed my holidays and nights out so I figure a gain can always be undone! It's taken me 31 years to get to the size I am so an extra week won't hurt too much!!

I've just found a mullerlight yogurt in my freezer that I must have put in there over a week ago!! Will it still be okay to eat if I defrost it a bit?!

hi ladies, i need to lose 2 stones and i am thinking of joining SW... problem is i dont have much money and dont get the EE, red and green days yet... i thought about going to class tomorrow, join in and then do it alone.. will i get books when i join in ? will i be able todo this on my own with the new member pack ? thanks

Hi and welcome to the thread. If you go to group and join up you'll get all the books you need to follow the plans (especially the EE plan which is the man thing in the book). You can listen to the new member talk and get the gist of the idea and there are plenty of people on here to put you right if you start to go wrong.

Only you know if you're disciplined enough to follow the rules without being accountable to someone else - some people are excellent but others find it hard if they don't have someone to face with their weekly result.

You need to be committed to making the necessary changes and be looking at the long-term result. This is not a race and it's not meant to be a quick fix, but if you want to lose weight while eating lots of lovely grub....you're in the right place :D

Hi im new to this slimming world i have a question how can you eat so much and it be good it just seems like you have to eat quite a lot and im after a pretty quick weight loss got a holiday in 4 months. I know its a lot of fruit and veg but im eating that now but dont seem to be losing anything im also doing half hour of wii fit every night.

    thanks

You can eat so much because it's not calorie-dense food that makes up the bulk of your eating. Foods such as potatoes, pasta, lean meat and fish etc along with fairly large amounts of fruit and veg, fill you up for longer and have far less calories than things like crisps, sweets and biscuits.

I don't subscribe to the "I want to lose all this weight by the end of the month" brigade because it's not a healthy way to lose and it's not sustainable, so once your holiday comes around you'll go off the 'diet' and this time next year you'll be looking for another quick-fix.

I'm sorry if that sounds harsh, but over the years this 'yo-yo dieting' will cause you more heartache than you will feel from starting a proper, healthy (Slimming World) plan now which may not see you at your target by your holiday this year, but could see you there for ever after.

Thanks everyone for your kind words. I didnt sleep a wink unfortunately but gonna work from 9-12 and try and have an hour then log back in until 11pm. Worse part is I had to cancel Florida last year with 4 weeks to go as I developed a huge abcess which had to be packed for 10 weeks so I couldnt leave the country. Now he has cancelled this one last mnonth without even telling me! I am going to sit today and try all ways to rebook one, Il get a bank loan if I have to, I cant let the kids down a second time.
I dont feel like eating at all, but I will. Il have berries and yoghurt for breakfast and see how I get on.

What an awful thing to happen Minx, I'm so sorry. In a few months time I'm sure you will see that you're better off without someone so selfish, but for now, chin up, you'll get by and it sounds as though you've got fab, loving kids :D

It might just be your body stabilising it's weight.

I had a massive 7lb loss in my first week, and I didnt lose again (STS STS +1) until the 4th week, but then that just averaged my weight out to the 1.5lb a week mark, which is the average loss!

Our bodies work in weird ways!
