Please will someone point me in the right direction for MrsM's burgers??? They keep popping up on here and everytime I hear about them I instantly go hungry.

Welcome all newbies, I remember it so well when I was starting off with SW, I was lost, confused and didn't think it would ever work. How wrong was I, and now I think I have this way of eating perfected, well nearly :)

Not posted for a while, but I have been on track 100%, im such a goody 2 shoes.

    Red day today
    B: Strawb muller & nana
L: Chicken salad on brown bread 3 slices of small HEB 1.5
    Half a melon
D: Tuna patties (tuna, low low cheese & onion) HEA with a load of salad & mayo (2)

Will have an alpen light to finish my HEBs off, and a milky cadbury highlights to finish my HEA tonight, along with my usual punnet of strawberries
Need to find something else to syn too

Had a bad start to the week this week, partner has told me he has cancelled our florida holiday we are due to go on in 4 weeks, and has left me, I dont know how il tell the kids but il cross that bridge later in the week.

Big hugs Minxtress. I feel for you.

I made chicken and sweetcorn soup today. If I put veg in things I have to blend it, because I don't like lumps, so I used a tin of creamed sweetcorn, one of those little knorr stockpot thingies, some shredded cooked chicken and some salt and pepper. Very yummy, even if I do say so myself. I also managed to eat it without bread of any description and there's loads still in the fridge.

I had fruit for my mid afternoon snack too. Chopped melon with chopped grapes and chopped strawberries, all in a big bowl so I can just pick at it.

I will also be making and freezing some more of MrsM's ox burgers as I can see them being in demand the next time we have good enough weather for a BBQ. That's if we ever do have better weather. It's freezing cold here with torrential rain, thunder and lightning just now.

I had a day off SW for the Royal wedding and felt rough for a good few days afterwards. I didn't drink enough to give myself a hangover, so I assume my body likes fresh healthy food and was objecting to the afternoon junk fest. Does that happen to anyone else?

No you're not wrong. Peas, along with some beans, sweetcorn, parsnips etc are all starchy veg and therefore not free on the red plan.

Awww i've clearly cocked up today - think EE will be best going forwards.........I'll forget today and start afresh tomorrow. Thank you all for the help x x

Yes this happend to me when I had a weekend off for my birthday a month ago, first and only time I let slip, and went for it, had lots of nice food and birthday cake, and felt like cr*p for a few days afterwards. I enjoyed it, dont get me wrong, but my body wasn't best pleased with me!!

I was glad to be back in the office today, away from temptation!
I've gone for green today so that I could have more HEs. DH cooked and made a Quorn chilli. He says it was syn free but I've not asked for the recipe, just incase! He wants us to eat the same things but the truth is that I'd much rather make some veggie concoction that he wouldn't touch with a bargepole, and he's much rather have a plate of meat, spuds and veg.

I went through our kitchen cupboard yesterday labelling up cans, jars and packets with syn values. Is that 'sad?' Still, I was pleasantly surprised to find that our naan breads are only 8 and the poppadums 2.5 each, so we could do a syn free curry and have a proper curry night without going OTT!

One thing that's been bothering me is that I'm still eating stacks of food rather than sticking to mealtimes and that concerns me because I've got a history of erratic eating and feel that I ought to be getting over that. But maybe I ought to put worrying about that on the back burner for the first few weeks so long as I can lose weight, even if that means stuffing my face with whatever fills me up!

Anyhow, he's to a good week for all.

It's really confusing when you start but you've got some spare syns for the cheese or the mash so don't worry about today, it's all experience. If you post your menu for tomorrow up good and early, someone will advise you before you start synning accidentally!:)

    Here goes!! Aiming for EE:

    B = 2 x weetabix and Milk (HEA+B)

L = Pasta (free), HM pasta sauce (free)
    Activia yoghurt (6syns)
    Banana (free)

D = Beef stir fry with veg and rice (free?)

    How does that look? :o

    These are the "OX burgers"

    Ox burger
    makes 6X100g burgers

    • 500g extra lean minced steak
    • 1 onion -finely chopped
    • 1tbs capers - well chopped
    • gherkin-finely chopped - (about 1tbs once chopped)
    • 1tsp wholegrain mustard (0.5)
    • 1tsp worcestershire sauce.
    • 2tbs fat free natural yoghurt
    1. Squish everything together with your hands and chill for about 1hr
    2. break of 100g pieces and shape into patties (I have a burger press )
    3. place back in the fridge until required
    4. heat a non-stick frying pan and cook drop them in and let them seal before turning over and cooking the other side -I cooked them on a fairly high heat to stop them losing all their juices

Or you could come across the Mersey and have one of mine to try from the freezer :rotfl:
