Hi
Another newbie here going it alone - a lady at work very kindly loaned me her books. Trying to get my head around it all...think I'm on a Red day?? Please can someone take a look and correct me if I'm wrong?
B: 2 x weetabixs (HEB) and Milk (HEA)
L: 227g baked potato (HEB), 42g reduced fat cheese (catherdral city) (HEA), salad, 1 tsbp dressing (2 syns), activia yoghurt (6 syns), BananaGammon, Mash, Peas and Grilled tomatoes.

This is more Extra Easy, because you've also had (i assume) potato mash as well as your HEB. But then you've had your two HEA's so you will have to syn either the cheese or the mash.
If you don't know, on Extra Easy you can have meat and potatoes/beans together, as long as 1/3rd of your plate is superfree (ie. free on both plans; salad, veg, fruit.) and you can have one HEB and one HEA.

Sorry, I should have explained a little better!
Yeah, potatoes are not free on red. And yes, you can have 2 x HEB and 2 x HEA on red and green. So if you wanted to keep this as a Red day you would need to syn the mash.
However, there is a new plan (probably not in the books you borrowed) called Extra Easy, which you get 1 HEA and HEB with. This plan means you can have both RED free items (meat and fish) and GREEN free items (potatoes, beans & pulses) together on the same plate. (as long as 1/3rd is fruit/veg/salad)
Then you would have had freed up your Jacket Potato HEB (as it is free on green) and then would have to syn the cheese or milk (as you've used up 2 HEA, therefore one would have to be syned.)
So I would see which has the least syns and then decide accordingly. (on Extra Easy, the lowest syn value out of red and green is picked)
The SW website has a free 7 day Extra Easy meal plan you can have a look at if this might make it less confusing :rotfl:

It's really confusing when you start but you've got some spare syns for the cheese or the mash so don't worry about today, it's all experience. If you post your menu for tomorrow up good and early, someone will advise you before you start synning accidentally!:)0 -

I need advice! ive been on SW before and it was fab, but i have no willpower, not so good. However I am getting married on the 9th of july this year and tried my dress on today and i need to lose 1-1.5 inches for it to fit!! So im going to do it through this thread rather than fork out £20 a month!
So i am really fretting now, feeling fat and ugly so i REALLY need to lose as much as i can in the next 8 weeks.
Im a size 18, the dress is a 16 and I really dont want to look 'packed into' the dress, how embarrassing. So there's no other quick fix, im going to do it the proper way. I still have my books and bits but may need a bit of help getting into the swing of it again!
So, starting tomorrow thats it. Back on it slimming world style!
*goes to read through thread to refresh memory!*
What you're planning is very doable indeed. If you've done SW before does that mean you've got all the books? Just keep posting your menus and you'll get all the advice and encouragement you need. Some lovely people on this thread.:A0
